The SL hate is real

Running through the expansion for the first time, and decided to queue up for some SL dungeons for some easy XP and gear. Closing in on 30 minutes now, and it’s just me and a lone tank sitting in queue.

Of all the expansions I’ve used TW to level a toon through, SL is easily the most barren.

Everyone enjoyed it the first time through I think but then once dragonflight became the new recommended leveling zone, it seems to have emptied out. The only people that go back now are the ones farming rep and mounts. There’s nothing left to be seen in the dungeons.

I don’t think it’s very popular for past reasons lol

That’s weird because the dungeons are pretty good

Maybe it’s because it’s timewalking week and non timewalking dungeons are relatively inefficient for leveling

Shadowland zones are still pretty populated on my realm. Like Elm said, the dungeon queue is long because of the timewalking event.

Shadowlands obliterates TWW and Dragonflight with ease, not even close.

Dungeons are not why SL was disliked.

Weird, I never see anybody there, like in any of the zones on MG, but I could always be getting empty shards.

Why queue any dungeons at all that aren’t timewalking, for leveling purposes?

Everyone has basically funneled themselves into whatever is most populated.

Also, exp bonus for running continued TW dungeons. It’s just faster.

Even DPS queues aren’t long.

SL TW doesn’t exist yet, we just got BfA TW.

I think right now it’s much faster to level with the time walking event I would expect that to affect all the regular dungeon queues.

I’ve been working on Bastion stuff around 11pm eastern time, saw lots of people buzzing around all week. I assumed it was people doing the meta achievement and such.

I can count on one hand the amount of other players I have ever seen in Shadowlands zones across like 3 characters.

I like Shadowlands.

I think the Jailer is my favorite villain ever.

Though the reason why I like him is that he sucks so much.

From the fact that the most notable aspect of his character design is his nipples, to the fan fiction quality of his insertion into all aspects of WC3 lore, to the cartoonish quality of his plans, etc lol

From a leveling standpoint it doesn’t seem like it would be the most efficient. For unlocking mounts and other cosmetics for each covenant, I could see some appeal.

I loved some of the art design and cosmetics, but actual gameplay wise it is a nightmare to me. You have to use a flight path to each covenant zone (which forces the flight path to go through hub and back). Things like no flight in a major zone, and extensive grinds are all just examples.

Shadowlands still continues to be black holed by the developers as even they just overlook it for any holiday events or general updates.

I did appreciate them making account wide faction apply to most of the stuff there though.

Ah, at night? Well that’s explain it, that’d be about my 12 midnight or later.

I’ll be curious for a Shadowlands Remix style event where the edges of the expansion are rounded off. The main reason it sucks is the overbearing grind of everything in it. Renown, Anima, Legendaries, all made it harder than it needed to be.

People dump on the story but I think there’s a lot to like about it. The Jailer isn’t a compelling villain, and they certainly didn’t go hard enough on essentially WoW’s version of The Devil. But I think the Covenant campaign stories are interesting and worth replaying.

But that idiot grind. That idiot, idiot grind.

Heaven being full of animatronics makes my Millennial Chuck E. Cheese heart bloom.

You missed it.

Beta was where it was at for the real game.

Torghast was busting with players even in Beta, it dropped gear, anima rewards felt good, the game was fun, in fact even the Maw broke for a time and we could use mounts down there, it was glorious.

Then a few weeks before launch the fun detected crew did their rounds, and you got Shadowlands lite.

I was so dismayed at the butchery that I quit and went and played Diablo.
