The sky is NOT falling bears

First- bear tanks are clearly viable.
-they can clear raids
-they can clear high level mythic +
Are other tanks better? Arguably yes.

Does that mean bear tanks should give up and go home? No.

Not being the best doesn’t mean you quit playing.

I enjoy playing bear (and I have no issue not even attempting high keys).

If clearing the highest key is what floats your boat, then work on the class that gets you there.

I feel like posting this on an alt with no account history of KSM in any season makes this claim dubious at best

Unless this is posted on an alternate account with an alt character which seems highly unlikely

Clearly, everyone is overreacting to the fact that there are 4 Druids in the top 500 tanks, and that the top Druid is 300 IO and an average of 3 keystones under the top warrior.

This is a dumb post and a dumb argument. Playing an objectively weak spec makes content harder at all levels, not just at the hardest level. When a spec is underperforming, it trickles down to all levels of content.

Furthermore, it’s not about being the best or the worst, it’s about being in the same ballpark. Bear was ok before, and they made it worse. That’s not ok in any sense.

Lol, i don’t do high level mythical. Never in my life cleared above a 10.

Not what I enjoy.

You can apply this logic to any spec that’s near the bottom of their group.

If you want it to be easier, perform better, etc, then play something else and quit whining.

No? We want to play what we want and be balanced?

Why did you make this thread? Just go away and play the game if you’re not concerned. What possible reason could you have to make a thread like this?

Again; being at the bottom and being abysmally underperforming are simply not the same. You can have classes in a range from 100 to 95% and everyone is fine. You can have everyone at 99 and one at 80 and it’s not fine. Being at the bottom doesn’t matter; what matters is the range. The range is too big, by a long way.

Then why do you care? Buffs or nerfs have no tangible effect on you, go on your happy way.

I don’t understand why people feel the need to make on post on a topic that has no effect on them and they know nothing about…

Then how do you make this statement to support your argument?

If you do easy content, of course you’ll have no difficulty? That’s why its easy content?

watches a bunch of balance Druids in the back literally bring the sky down

Lol unless its a scaling issue, this person has no idea what they are talking about. There are plenty of examples of issues that do not become a problem until a higher key, that does not mean the issue was a problem at lower keys. All of the tanks are overperforming at lower keys and the differences dont really start to show until 16+

Sounds like you aren’t a reputable source for the status of bears then.

A level 19 Troll Druid. Puff move along baby druid you aren’t even level 70 yet. If you are playing a guaridan druid at lvl 70 you would know even doing low m+ it feels really bad with the current guardian spec. Oh btw the no1 guardian durid livestream his comments on the new change and it is to “play a different spec” that’s how bad it is.

The top tank of each class has an all tank rating of: prot 1st, paladin 8th, 9th/25th/26th. Then you get to druids at 216. What could it mean.

This is simply not true. It is an often-claimed falsehood. For players who are capable of clearing much higher keys, the differences don’t show. For people for whom 15s are the most difficult content they will achieve, the differences absolutely DO matter.

M8 its going to be significantly harder ti do these things as a bear. Why play a bear and be 2x weaker in every way when compared to any other tank.

I wonder if vengeance DH is better than bear now lol.

Sometimes casting lunar beam hurts you and heals your enemies.
Lunar beam is usable in flight form.
Raze isn’t even flagged as a Guardian Druid spell so it’s not subject to the correct damage auras.
Using rake from stealth disconnects you.

(What’s interesting is that this is still live. These are known issue posted here in the druid forums where blizzard says they take feedback from)

This is just an example of how not tested and not ready this patch was.

Talents are scuffed to the point of being a second class citizen.

Can you play guardian druid? Of course you can.
Will you be playing at a disadvantage compared to every other tank? Of course you will.

TLDR Druid is so badly underpowered now that you are purposely gimping yourself by playing your bear, and that’s something that needs to be addressed.

All the responses show how petty and entitled people are.
My original post was simply a statement that bears can be played to clear most of the games content.
Are the best at it? No.
That doesn’t mean you can’t play the game.

But alas, entitled youth of today can’t process this.

Ok Hot take: The extremely scuffed, bugged, imbalanced, and nonfunctional patch they dropped which does not address any of Bears issues, makes it actively worse, and ignored all feedback (which can actually make you disconnect if you use rake or heal your enemies with Lunar Beam while damaging yourself in the process) was a big mistake and should actually be highly embarrassing for the dev team.
