There was a moment when 3s cr and mmr could have been adjusted to match solo shuffle and how high people got in SS. I stead they forced SS down to 3s. This single decision point has left basically 97% of the player base more frustrated and less able to enjoy the game.
Frankly the game is best when people hit rating early, then lfg gets flooded with people looking to just help other players hit goals.

Solo Shuffle being passively 400-600 mmr higher for no reason wasn’t healthy.

Why is that. What would it matter if Solo Shuffle is way higher mmr than 3’s. I think the appeal of Solo Shuffle is that people do not have to play 3’s and do not enjoy it.
Isn’t it unhealthy to try to encourage players to play a mode they do not enjoy and have always avoided?

I’m not disagreeing with this statement, but wasn’t there indeed multiple reasons why solo shuffle was 400-600 mmr higher?
E.g., more popular due to accessibility, more casual friendly, no voice communication required to thrive (can play without feeling handicapped), can play any spec in the game (versus trying to play a weak spec in lfg or finding partners willing to play with you on your non-S (or A) tier spec), etc.
If I’m mistaken just let me know, but I don’t think it was “passively” 400-600 mmr higher, but rather it was higher because it was ultimately more popular content (not even taking into account that it was the new shiny of the expansion pvp-wise).
This too.

Easier and more accessible format shouldn’t also have more plentiful rewards.
Solo Shuffle is mostly just lower quality 3v3 without the social attachment.
Yeah, average mmr scales off the overall participation so you’d queue up, win three lobbies, be 2400 mmr and feel good as opposed to being 1850 3v3 for 200 games.

Probably the popular opinion, but subjective nonetheless. I’m a boomer so I personally enjoy the duration of shuffle games compared to 3s (e.g., I’d rather the game be over in 3-5 minutes vs 8-10 minutes).
Having said that, I definitely hate that dampening is the main reason why games end in all brackets
Make regular 2s/3s solo queueable, and the issue with shuffle having higher mmr would be solved for the most part (I think).
I think that the social detachment can be neat, where you just wanna vibe and send games without fumbling with lfg or scheduling queues.
At the end of the day shuffle had the issue of just making all the arena rewards other than glad basically free which hurt 2v2 and 3v3 too much, so it was brought in line with other brackets, which is fine.
Either you have comp imbalances or they have to mismatch MMR heavily (2200 solos vs 2000 mmr duo for instance) which creates funky games.

Just throwing it out there, you shouldn’t have to spend copious amount of time in a game getting a PHD in your class in pvp to start seeing rewards. PVE doesn’t work like that so why should PVP, this is why so little people play it.

You are saying people do not want to play 3’s and want to play Solo Shuffle. So remove the plentiful rewards from the mode people q up for and let them continue to not q 3’s?
I haven’t played 3’s since like 2010 or so because I could never have more than one irl friend play wow at the same time since then. I will not play it for that reason. I have tried it and use lfg, it is a horrible experience every time and a complete waste of my time.
I don’t see how trying to get people to play less of one mode that they enjoy and still not play a mode they do not enjoy helps the game. I am not convinced it works that way.
If they removed Solo Shuffle right now, I would just go back to healing my super casual irl friend in low 2’s every couple weeks or so when he is able to get online. Making Solo Shufffle less enjoyable isn’t going to get me to play 3’s ever. I would just not be playing wow as much.

Comp imbalance is fine, since the players at that mmr will generally be better than the players playing normal 3’s. Also for the most part, you can make most comps work apart from a couple of combos.

Double boomy into rdruid/dh/dk is very sad
I think that people take the path of least resistance.
If world quests dropped the same gear as mythic raid bosses that’d be the hot new thing.
Ya feels?

I’d assume there wouldn’t be class stacking really in it.
I don’t feels, I wouldn’t do world quests because I do not enjoy them.
Most people would because at the end of the day it’s usually about making number go up.
Shuffle is like the “I can’t get a healer to willingly play with me so force one to please”.

Honestly they should bring back rated teams to wow.
This hard to accept truth is going to hurt alot of feelings

There’s nothing stopping you from only playing with the same few people now.
Although, cross-realm and lack of teams has sort of created this lack of willingness to “invest” in anybody because a better potential teammate is just a few clicks away, so everybody just fishes for better partners and only queues across-up.
I’d play 3s if the LFG system for 3s was leagues better than it is currently.
But the main issue is to try find non-toxic players that want to push past 1800 is extremely hard… like impossible. the Tox is strong in that bracket. Last 2 times i tried 3s we lost first game and someone leaves.
This is why i shuffle. Every day im shufflin
I do not know. I do not pve.
But if you had said that if they made getting max pvp gear from random battlegrounds the way to go. I actually think that is how it should be. You get max gear and then q for 2’s, 3’s and Solo Shuffle. Everyone should start out with a chance to be on the same level other than skill is what I believe.
I would gear in random bgs and then only q some form of arenas. Right now I gear through Solo Shuffle and it is odd to start out with less skill and less gear.
