Is that we have all new shiny abilities, shiny swords, shiny armor sets, and then a Divine Steed model from 2005.
There is absolutely no reason to give us a glyph for steed “changes steed to one of your favorite mounts” etc.

You do need to complete the broken shore storyline in order to get access to it and it’s limited to your class mount.

Though I will admit they should probably give us an updated version of the default charger at some point too, seeing as every paladin race other than humans and blood elves has a high res racial paladin mount now that is legion/bfa quality.

You can get a high res model though. The Legion class mount is a revision of the classic charger model. On top of that, once you unlock it you can buy glyphs from a vendor to change your divine steed to look like the mount. It’s cheap too, like 1000 resources or something trivial like that.
Unfortunately though, none of them really reflect the classic Blood Knight colors of Black and Red. Blizzard really forgot that the Horde had Paladins as well when they made the order hall mount.
There’s a red and black tint version of the legion mount.
Is there? The closest we get of the Highlord charger as far as I know is red and white armor with blue glow.

This still makes it a horse. Only 2 races out of the 8 that can be Paladin ride horses.
I wish you could ride any of the racial steeds regardless of race, because I really love the Dwarf ram steeds.
I don’t know if I’d consider the class order mount to be an update of the old Human and Blood Elf ones, they don’t even look like the old ones and I’d love a real HD update of the classic ones because they still look more iconic.

That said, I’m this close to race changing to dwarf for their ram…
I mean, I dunno that I would call the legion mount a high res version of the original mount. Sure, they’re both horses and both have similar themes behind their unlocking questlines iirc but I would classify the legion mount as more of a high res interpretation of the spirit of the mount not the mount itself.
What I would consider a high res version of the mount would be the exact same mount with the exact same armor and colors and effects and everything just modern quality. Kind of like the tomb of Sargeras versions of tier 6 armor.
Not gonna lie, I love the Legion mount. I have Alar, Sandstone Drake, Transmog Mammoth and Legion pally mount on my bars and the pally mount gets a fair bit of use. It looks great with the light particle glyph as well.
ngl i also have pally charger on my bars lol. i kind of dont want it to get updated, something about the old model makes it charming to me
I just want to set lucid nightmare as my divine steed mount because the class mount doesn’t fit my mog at all

Regardless of them giving us the option to get the Legion one and glyph it. They really should update the old model.
What other ability in the game has something tied to it that’s like 15 years old and looks like garbage?
Imagine getting on your Mage and suddenly your Pyroblast turned into the pixelated monstrosity from vanilla. You would be like this spell just like doesn’t fit. Everything looks nice fresh and HD. And here is this random one that looks like it’s from 1968.
The simple fact that it’s tied to a ability within the game warrants it being updated in my opinion. I don’t have to glyph to make my other classes have updated graphics…
