The silliest thing about BfA's story

You can say Genn started this, Sylvanas Started this by attacking Gilneas, for killing Liam, for blighting the town, and forcing Genn to join the alliance.

Gilneas was very much a non-issue, they were barely recovering from the Cataclysm, they weren’t a major threat.

But Sylvanas started this. You can blame it on Garrosh, but Sylvanas could have approached things in a number of ways. the Gilneans were the underdogs the entire time.

Both sides have done wrong.

Sylvanas is just once again overreacting, and becoming a terrible character.

I meant characters in-game.

Oh, I see. Yeah thematically why wouldn’t we at least get a “Here we go again” from an old Tauren or a Dwarf. It’d make me smile at least.

Rexxar kind of mentions it? But with a lot less ferocity than you’d expect.

I don’t mind being blunt. The story comes off incredibly stupid and insulting after Legion. I get into arguments with a close friend of mine over me simply not wanting to play through it. “How can you judge it without playing?” Easy. I hate that we are here and I’m not gonna force myself through it. What’s funny is he described the storyline/quests as having very little Horde/Alliance conflict. That’s strange considering how this all started. Annoyingly he bought BfA for me.

Blizzard “But… What if we… made another 5 million dollar 3 minute cinematic and in game questline where you can get a toy and watch more cinematics?! You guys like cinematics don’t you? you guys don’t have popcorn?”

Garrosh ordered her to take the city, which she did… with gusto. Garrosh still initiated the act. Genn has every right to be angry at Sylvanas and want her dead but the blame for this event is not solely on her shoulders.

Also how would you have done it? Just give a few alternatives. I am genuinely curious about what could have happened in your opinion.

And now they’re howling with rage. Or maybe you could say Genn is barking mad? Someone should really throw them a bone.

Puns.

By saying Sylvanas was following orders are you guys trying to convince us she didn’t want to do it or was against it? That she is innocent from her acts? lol

Sorry but the horde can’t pull that “But Genn tried to kill our warchief” crap.

This isn’t actually happening.

If you can’t grok the gist of the BfA story, then that’s kinda on you.

we shouldn’t have to read a book to understand the story in an RPG.

It actually is happening. Baine and numerous other characters are completely oblivious to the fact that they’ve done this before.

We’re talking about in-game characters, not players.

No, it isn’t. You’re resting your laurels on the false premise that “Sylvanas is Garrosh 2.0”.

Well so far she’s playing par for the course. And not just her. The only thing unknown so far is whether or not it will turn into a redemption arc.

I always thought the fact they paid an actual writer to write it was the silliest thing about the story.

For me, the silliest thing was when Jaina saves the bad guys with her big 'ol flying boat.

Come on, man.

I fail to see the problem.

Having our factions to unite and defeat a common enemy again sounds just as bad.

I was counting the days for Legion to be over because I’m so tired of those internet tough guy demons.

Instead of being angry at the Horde, I feel sad for them. For the Horde side that want just to be noble savages.

And sad for Sylvanas, too. Well, sad for the entire Horde.

Yeah…this is the first time I have skipped all quest text on my first playthrough of an expansion. Nothing seems remotely interesting. I wish they’d stop crapping out these “epic story lines” and just give us some honest-to-god adventures. I miss adventuring.

Sylvanas was a fascinating character trying to find her way in a world out to get her and her people. One of her old voice lines was “What joy is there in this curse?” or something similar. She wanted to protect those under her care, and saw the Horde as a tool to doing that.

This is the Sylvanas and Forsaken I liked.

Now it’s “I’ll kill anyone who doesn’t agree with me!!!” “Must make more Forsaken!!!” “Can’t go back to Hell!!!” “BUUUUUUUURN AND/OR BLIGHT EVERYTHING!!!” and it’s just so boring. She’s generic villain, worse than Garrosh because at least he had a more unique take on it and cared about the Orcs (And I suppose anyone willing to follow him, though he had issues with Elves in general). Sylvanas doesn’t even care about her own people, she just wants to avoid Superhell which is where she belongs.

That’s why BfA’s story makes me sad. I was so hyped to see her really grow into becoming a true Warchief of the Horde. Instead she’s just the Lich Queen. The writing is so bad.
