In Ancient Greek philosophy, the Ship of Theseus is a thought experiment that asks whether an entity that has had all of its original components replaced remains the same entity.
Grobbulus was once among the greatest realms in Classic WoW, a shining city on the hill. This was the golden age of Classic. As time progressed other realms faltered, once great lands became desolate, entire worlds evacuated. Grobbulus was more than willing to take in these refugees because though time had been kinder to Grobbulus she still felt it’s effect, with the loss of players and communities that had given it its character.
Realm after realm after realm fell. Players converged on the few remaining “megaservers” left.
RP-PvP meant nothing, only the high population and the fading promise of yesterdays glory.
It took in the worst parts of every dying server while losing the best parts of itself until we are left with… this.
The ship isn’t sinking and the sun will rise another day. People will continue playing, ignorant to what was or could have been. But the ship isn’t Grobbulus and the sun will never shine as brightly.
TL;DR: Stop lying to transfers about how “good” Grobbulus is.
