If this was their purpose why not just open the beta servers for everyone? Then they’ll have a real STRESS test. Or invite more people for the Beta. I think they didnt even took down the beta server for this test so… ?. But meh whatever, Im just pissed. Going to do something else and maybe “stress” the server later.

Beta is for bugs and general stability. Stress testing is different:

Stress testing. … Stress testing (sometimes called torture testing) is a form of deliberately intense or thorough testing used to determine the stability of a given system or entity. It involves testing beyond normal operational capacity, often to a breaking point, in order to observe the results.

Could you have left a Normal or RP server open so folks who aren’t into PvP might be more inclined to join? Maybe a little variety?

I had to log off (after being kicked off one server due to lack of players) so i’ll reserve judgement until I get home to play further, but it looks like the appeal of Classic at least in the subscriber community is almost nonexistent based on the numbers that were drummed up to log in first thing today. Opening the next batch of testing to nonsubscribers will be essential for a proper indication of interest in this product, and thus proper server coverage.

I was enjoying it a lot on server 4 before it got shut down. Afterwards the area was too crowded for me or any of the 3 people I grouped with to even get a wolf so I just logged off. I’ll play some more later when I can actually play lol

The level cap is 15. There’s no mandatory flagging and you never leave your own faction’s zones unless you make the decision to yourself.

Bornakk, how does this help really anybody? people were ready to test until the servers were thanos’d. can we get clarification on if/when the other servers will be up otherwise being routed into two overly congested servers isn’t exactly exciting.

Big brain move doing it in the middle of a work day and gating a lot of your core audience by needing an active sub.

Yup I don’t think people understand what this is. There’s not much point trying to play seriously. Just get in there and have some fun.

The Dwarven/Gnome, the Orc/Troll…the Undead…all too crowded to do anything. I get the point of the stress test but if there’s nothing to do in it but stand around and look at 1,000 other Gnomes and Dwarves all standing around idle, I won’t be staying logged in xD. It’s duller than paint drying. The login servers have been tested, people are in without DCing, now there’s nothing else to do.

There’s plenty of stuff to do, thing is you have to have some imagination.
Currently I am trying to run through STV as a level 2 Orc to get to Stormwind.

Really Blizzard, you set up all these Server to stress test, and you find out that they were not stressed enough, so you closed down a but two, and you leave 2 PvP servers… What the bloody Hell. you couldn’t do 1 of each?

Logging in and stressing the servers helps us a lot. The goal here is to deliver an appropriate play experience on August 27.
