The Sentinel Army

The Sentinel Army was mustered in Feralas before BFA and were supposed to go to Silithus when they were recalled because of the Horde invasion. I read where their fleet went to Darkshore to repel the Horde and failed. I know there have since been parts of the story involving Shandris Feathermoon after that event but no more mention of the army she commanded. Was Darkshore the end of the Sentinel Army?

No, because they make their presence n Jaina’s invasion including men in hot bikini armor.

Now how many of THEM Jaina spent needlessly is what might have been the end.

Any able-bodied night elf would’ve been chomping at the bit to kill Horde. Jaina probably couldn’t have paid them to keep out of the fight.

The Sentinels never actually got there. The majority of them were on the fleet of ships and were halfway down to Silithus when the attack happened. They never returned in time to help the defense. Only a smaller faction of sentinels and other defenders were there in the battles.

They surely would have suffered more casualties as the Fourth War went on, as everyone did, but the sentinel army still exists and continues to be their main fighting force.

I remember seeing the ‘hot bikini armor’ at the battle for Lordaeron but, given their lack of armor, I thought they were just poorly equipped refugees that were ‘pressed’ into service, not the sentinel army. Wowwiki, in an article on Shandris Feathermoon, suggested they did get back in time to fight at Darkshore but were defeated when the wisp wall fell by Horde infiltrators and the felfire from their catapults. This tale apparently came from a novella, Elegy, by Christie Golden. The army of the black moon would seem to be made up of night elves that did the quest In Darkest Night and got the Blessing of the Night Warrior appearance customization. I don’t think they are the same as the Sentinel Army. In game, I didn’t think they got back in time to save Darkshore which is why I wondered what happened to them. I guess the novella saw them suffer the same fate as the tree and the only remnant of them is Shandris Feathermoon. What a depressing story.

They were pretty much dressed the same way as the Night Elf Druid in the original WOW cinematic.

The Army of the Black Moon was a composite of Night Elves and Worgen.

In Warcraft tradition, every dual faction battlefront gets unique armies created for it. The Horde had one too, the Descreators or Deforesters, I forget exactly.
