I felt the same way, and I had zero secret pets and zero 25 level pets. I HAD to do it, and so do you. The worst part is, that this is the HARDEST part of the quest chain and takes a TON of luck just to beat the pokemon gym leader that you have to beat. Even with the pets itā€™s almost impossible. Have fun. I was stuck on this step for like 6-8 playing hours

I had what is considered he best three pets to fight him, all three at level 25, and it still took me almost 10 tries, just waiting for enough lucky crits. I would be more concerned with how overtuned it is other than having to actually do it. The recommended pets take like 5 minutes each to get.

I was able to cage quite a few of the required pets and lend them to the other half so he was able to do this step. Since I pet battle a lot, I was also able to help friends that had pets stuck at level 1 (again, provided they were tradeable) by trading, leveling it, and trading it back. The secrets are often meant to be incredibly annoying to those that arenā€™t collectors, but this can be overcome with groups and friends. There are many steps where simply being near those that have the items youā€™re missing it enough to trigger the step.

I followed the instructions available online and won the fight in likeā€¦ 3 tries?

Heck, the whole owl statue puzzle in Vault took way longer and was more annoying.
And the step with the rats and pressure plates definitely tested my patience and reading comprehensionā€¦

wouldnt be an issue if it wasnt the fact they practically expect you to no life the pet battles to get any goodies from it. even pokemon doesnt expect you to have a specific set of six with 4 specific skills on each in order to defeat the most mundane of trainers.

though this is blizzard, they cant allow you to just have fun and get prizes, you have be an uber sweat in every facet of the game, even pet battles.

Yeah I thought any 3 rare pets would do the trick, turns out some of them are straight busted for this fight, like spyragos. I didnā€™t have him, but I saw vids of ppl that did and absolutely dumpstered the tonk tank with it. As for me, with zero pet battle experience I struggled, but it was worth it to me in the end.
