Hadn’t seen much alpha info on it until this morning while watching MrGM, his evoker did a complete circle steering deep breath. This means you can hit the same targets multiple times instead of passing over them.
Ground targeting goes away completely, you just start flying and can steer in a very tight circle.
What I originally thought was a basically pointless talent, now I can see the potential.

Yeah basically waiting for them to overtune flameshaper since nobody will want to play it otherwise, lol.

Flameshaper was already doing bucketloads of aoe burst in M+, so it’ll probably be fine there.
I can also see Flameshaper as an attractive option for many since Scalecommander requires Momentum style burst windows with deep breath which will turn off some people.

So deep breath will do pitiful damage as they’ll probably tune the numbers expecting you to circle just a single target.
Would be way easier to just code it so it can’t overlap. It’s too intrinsic to the playstyle to nerf it.
With how the debuff works with melt armor, you’ll probably lose DPS by trying to fly in a circle vs landing and blasting, anyways.

Steering ability is nice and I’m sure it will make for some fun times, but I wish they’d have just built in the teleport back rather than making it cost a valuable talent point.
Before anything new is added, I want the bugs fixed first. Generational damage like the obsidian shards needs fixed (why is it even broken to begin with since it was a 10.1 set bonus is beyond me), but if it is not fixed, the problem is only going to rise again in AWW with new bonuses or new abilities like the damage bonus from Scalecommander DB.
The empower bug that has existed since the beginning of Dragonflight needs fixed.
The bug that causes Deep Breath to sometimes cancel, but still show the animation and apply a MASSIVE slow while doing no damage, needs to be fixed.
I do believe at least this is fixed by the changes.
What about the bug where disintigrate seems to last for half a second after a hover sometimes? Has anyone else noticed that?
Not unless that’s also how it will cast as flameshaper.
When I’ve seen that it’s only the animation that vanishes. I’m still channeling and dealing damage.
It’s the cast bar that only lasts 1 tick I think, as in the entire cast bar is one tick and then stops. It’s happened a few times - not common, but enough for me to have noticed
Its might not be. This only makes it driveable. I havent been invited to the alpha yet, but im positive the bug that happens when something pulls you out of something that should not be cancelable will still cause you to do nothing at a slow speed for the remaining duration.
I know its still not fixed on live because it happened to me in a key this week.
