The Sable Society
Who We are:
The Sable Society is a society of antiquarians and artifact hunters that are funded by an anonymous benefactor. What they want - we will retrieve. Often times this drives us into far-flung lands undergoing great peril, but the pay makes up for whatever dangers we are faced with. However, our Benefactor has a singular focus - they desire only the artifacts we are tasked to find, none other. What other magic objects we happen upon are ours to keep as we wish.
However, when our benefactor has no artifacts they need hunting, the Society is free to operate as they wish. That is to say, we accept contracts for those that wish for us to procure them artifacts, and also will always keep our eyes out for whispers of powerful artifacts that might be better suited for our own devices. If you have heard whispers are artifacts that need procuring, we will find it.
What we do:
Our guild will engage in a few categories of RP:
D20 events
Most, if not all of our events will be D&D style d20 events. In time, we will have everyone craft their own character sheets so we can utilise all aspects of a character - from their perception, their arcanic abilities, or their ability to smash things open. Not all d20 events will be combat oriented - but all will have rolling based on your skills as a critical component.
Black Market Events
We hope to develop a system where events can net certain artifacts back to the guild and be resold on a black market. These can be internal events, where you use guild-earned income to purchase an artifact, or external events, where we host community events for people to purchase these black market oddities.
Character-owned artifacts
Player characters will have the chance to procure artifacts during the course of events. These artifacts can be used in guild RP to give bonuses to roles, or provide other bonuses (Or curses…)
Player-based reputation
Your character can earn reputation with the benefactor directly. Through procuring artifacts, taking on outside contracts in their name, or donating to their cause. What this reputation will bring, however, remains to be seen…
