I honestly thought the Primus got too stressed out and took a Vacation.
I was often suspicious of the Runecarver being the Primus.
Not because they look similar but looking from the Jailerâs perspective, I too would go for the same opportunity of obtaining revenge.
If Zovaal seeâs someone who had him locked away for countless years, of course itâs likely he would give that individual a taste of their own medicine.
If he happens to be deemed a threat, stripping him of his memory seems to be the best strategy.
Iâve posted it before but my theory is the Primus is Veânari. One of the houses in Maldraxxus is all about disguise/deception so the Primus disguising himself would be pretty easy to explain. The brokers donât trust Veânari because they know Veânari is not like them. Veânari sells you many unusual items including a rune tattoo to protect from assassins. I think the Primus is trying to rescue the Runecarver as that was an apprentice maybe or possibly even a first one that taught the Primus.
Also storyline has loosely indicated that Vashj and Mograine have met the Primus yet the Runecarverâs memories were supposedly used to create Frostmourne and the Helm of Domination - 2 items that existed on Azeroth well before Vashj/Mograinesâ deaths.

The OG concept art for jailer isnât the same as the current jailer, thats not proof. Concept art is just thatâŠearly idea drawings. Itâs not cannon. The cannon runecarver and primus donât have enough fingers and horns.

One of the proofs offered is that the Runecarver has 5 fingers and the Primus statue has 4. It interesting that if you look at the statue it has a round stump on the hand that looks like a finger was removed. Maybe Iâm stretching but perhaps it was changed for a reason.

I think the likelihood of the rune-carver being the primus is the same as him not being the primus. If there is one thing I have learned from reading stories, is that if the author wants you to think something, itâs because they are walking you into a twist.
You do realize that is most likely a representation of a helm on his head and not his head.

The SL story is so scant to begin with, and gated on top of that, that I have lost all interest in this content.
Plus the Primus did say in his cryptic warning that if he is still MIA then most likely the Jailer defeated him. At the point of time when he made that warning, the Primus still considered Denathrius an ally as he said to warn the Archon, Winter Queen and the Sire about some weird stuff going down in the maw. I bet the Primus went to Daddy D as Revendreth is the closest realm to the maw other than Oribos and was betrayed by Denathrius.

Heâs not inside the statue dude comeon. I think heâs just hiding from the jailer in a location we donât yet know about because he doesnât want what happened to the Arbiter to happen to him.
That guy in Maldraxxus in the cave wearing jeans, sneakers, a red/white stripped shirt, hat, and glasses? Yeah thatâs the Primus. Zovalâs color blind and itâs why all his crap is gray, dark gray, and blue glowy thingies. Thatâs why Zoval ignores what seems to be a disembodied pair of blue jeans running around Maldraxxus now and then. That and the glasses give +100 on hide in plain sight checks.
