The "RP" Half of This MMORPG is Dead

I actually find people who choose to ignore the story and RP as they choose, basically turning azeroth into their own self made sandbox to be more detrimental to the community than blizzards lack of “whatever this post is about”.

The game is meant to be a backdrop, if you don’t follow the story, whether because you choose to ignore it or simply not understand it is up to you, but vocally hating on, and segregating yourself from the population who chooses to abide by the games storyline, as blizzard has told it, does nothing but hurt the future for rolepalying.

The thing I really don’t get is how blind some people can be to the future. Blizzard spends money on what makes them money, that’s raiding and pvp. The moment those ventures become less lucrative, they’ll pump money back into the world, creating a riddle, adding a lumber mill, the list goes on. They’re building the world off of the backs of raiders and pvpers, because those are the people willing to pay for half developed zones which are themselves (to them) a backdrop for the content they play, an excuse to have new gear, a new raid. The glory years of role playing in WoW will be when the WoW as we have known it to be since vanilla is dead.

This is entirely negated with “There are realms literally designated for roleplay”. Do you just go into the realms list and ignore that “RP”?

The community is free to go anywhere else, we can’t be “detrimental” when we’re no where near you.

It’s something I’ve done for well over a decade over many games and platforms. I don’t think you know, especially after you giving examples of it being dead because transmog isn’t free or that we have RP addons that we don’t have to use but most of the community does use.

Seems I needed more context so I edited the OP for you.

That’s the great thing about general discussion, it’s not just an echo chamber.

I’ll give my opinion where and when I want

Then you should also be willing to accept when others give it to you.

My OP is my opinion. I’ll give my opinion where and when I want.

Absolutely, when did I not?

When you felt the need to assert your opinion as your opinion.

Inb4: “Lol okay troll.”

You literally said in this thread you chose your rp server to be in the largest most populated server.

Do you not even read the server names and choose to RP in ones which names resonate with your beliefs?

No, you said

And I just said when the community is ours why is that a problem? I can agree on levels when there’s someone who roleplays as a Titan or something or even Victorian Vampires, but truth is, we just ignore them and they don’t impact the rest of the community on non-roleplay servers.

That’s all I was saying and didn’t understand. Sorry if I misinterpreted you.

Lol that’s about what I figured from you.

Carry on with your echo chamber then

you can still reply to my question, why are you so fixated on paying with the highest population of people? Role playing isn’t about fitting in with everybody

Same. You literally were just gonna basically say “Lol okay troll.”

This is just a watered down version of that now. Have a good day.

Because I wanted to play with a big roleplay community and so that’s what I sought.

Just, ignore them, nothing productive comes of conversating with someone who’s first interaction with you unprovoked is “You’re weird, go die in a fire.”.-Ancient Chinese Wisdom.

I’m not even an RPer and I think these are all very valid criticisms

Not necessary for roleplaying.

How do the transmogrifiers make a living then? They provide a service so you should pay for it.

So? I don’t see people out in the real world with profiles telling me exactly who they are and their entire backstory…

Yeah, especially since the factions have been in a war with one another for most of the game’s history and just now in a ceasefire.

You want Blizzard to update EVERY SINGLE ZONE every patch or expansion? Are you insane?

So, in this roleplaying game the role you are playing is “champion”. You can play other roles if you wish, but you will always be an “adventurer”, “champion”, or “hero” of your faction or of the world main story that Blizzard has made for us.

Use “/e”.

You know what? I’ll give you a point for that. One. Out of ten.

So the same as the above point; amend the score to one out of nine.

So no one has to learn how to do things? Do we all just have our highest potential from birth?

It sounds like you want your own community though. Not to join one which is already established and abide by their unwritten rules?

I actually think I’d be stepping on toes if I went to moonguard and RP’d under my own understanding. Which is why among my 4 characters I RP on they are all on low pop RP realms. It’s my own personal take on it, but hey if I stick around for another decade maybe it’ll work out.

I really do love people who don’t roleplay or understand it’s ‘purpose’ who try to come up with logical reasons why something short of giving free transmogrification costs [Not collecting the appearances themselves, henceforth they can still be sold and people can “make a living”] is simply not allowed on a RP realm.

Nice assumption.

Would you prefer illogical ones?

But your point is to roleplay… Or are you roleplaying that the transmogrifiers are non-player characters?

How about you take a crack at the rest of my comments as well.

I’m sorry, your from Stormrage? Why does anything that happens on our own realms matter to you again?
