The reworked maneuverability is terrible!

Hey, everyone!

Bring back old flexible Maneuverability. In current state this talent only lacks crutches, or rename it in Tightness.

It works how it always worked for me

Yeah it feels pretty bad, before it made a big difference being able to steer it in a wide circle and make tighter turns to avoid things, but now it’s like maybe 15-30 degrees of skew which feels kind of pointless to be able to steer it at all now

Did you ever try using “Turn Left” and “Turn Right” while using Deep Breath instead of “Strafe Left” and “Strafe Right”. The former let you turn corners and maneuver very quickly compared to the strafe keybinds while using the spell.

I would certainly like to have that interaction back, but I imagine that’ll be unlikely. I’m betting it was a bug.

Its rather annoying it was an undocumented change.

It almost certainly was a bug, I’ve been using it normally to not get too used to it cause I knew fun would be detected eventually.

Yeah was very unpleasantly surprised to find my ability to deep breath absolutely trashed this patch. Hoping its just a bug and not an intended change

As I’ve not had ‘turn’ bound to my keys for literally years, I hope that they just make the base ability more manuverable.

Yea, something changed how it moves.

Sometimes you can barely turn at all, other times you can do a U-turn.

Yeah, this feels absolutely terrible. The movement feels almost totally pointless now. The previous version felt so dynamic and versatile. Now it’s like…yay…I am on rails and can choose slightly left or slightly right…

IDK lol, you all are acting like you were going Tokyo Drift for miles with this when you want to be in and out of breath ASAP.

It’s still infinitely better than stock breath and plenty steer-able.

Only ever in testing did I try it, since I only have turn left and right bound to arrow keys. Never did anything for me compared to just holding the mouse to turn. I can’t even remember if strafing ever turned me at all by itself, because again that’s only something I ever tried in random testing and there was no turn speed difference for me.

Previously it was possible to zig-zag the line and make much tighter turns, which was more important in PvP or in navigating tight spots like dodging damage on the floor. I usually steered by holding mouse, strafe, and camera turn, now I can only use holding mouse with camera turn so we technically lost something we’ve had since beta and all of the expansion so far.

That’s what everyone said, all I’m saying is it never worked for me. Welcome to my world

The disappointing part is that a few weeks ago I was working on making a video showing the difference between non strafe turning compared to strafe turning, I didn’t actually have any of the clips saved because I wasn’t satisfied with the framing of the shots and then I got sidetracked with setting things up so I couldn’t accidentally cancel deep breath.

now i’ll never know what it looked like since you were procrastinating

I miss the strafe tech so much… made the game feel more fun

“Strafe” means press Left or Right buttons with two mouse buttons in same time?

It depends on how you have your keybinds bound.

Strafe - If you were to be standing still with your hands off the mouse and pressed “Strafe Left” then your character would start running sideways to the left while the camera was still pointed forward.

Turn - Still standing still with your hands off the mouse, if you pressed “Turn Left” then you character will stand in place and the camera will rotate to the left - you’ll basically just rotate counter clockwise in place.

I completely agree that this the previous iteration was much more fun and now it feels incredibly meh. If PvP is the issue, can we get 2 versions of it? One that works as it previously did in PvE and the current version for PvP?

Finally Deep Breath felt awesome to hit for 1 patch, now it just feels limited and basically the same as being unable to steer it anyway.
