Unstable Affliction’s damage dealt when it is dispelled has been reduced by 35%.
This was not overpowered on beta and didn’t 1 shot you even if it crit. People were spam dispelling this in arenas on beta already and while it was risky at times, it was powerful enough to warrant having to make a conscious thought about dispelling or not.
Why are we nerfing things that are overpowered in pre-patch, but not in Shadowlands? Isn’t that not smart to do?
Before it’s said I have no idea about beta but I 200% promise you we didn’t sit through 2 years of BFA with no changes for them to do pre patch tuning. Regardless of wether it’s justified or not on beta it’s a change for beta and it’s weird you’d ever think anything else
I’m convinced Warlocks have gotten so used to being utterly overpowered for 6 months. They really just can’t comprehend that UA doing more than 50% of someone’s health is unacceptable
Why is it? You can just not press dispel. And UA isn’t even an issue on beta. It just seems like it’s nerfing something that isn’t an issue on beta and only is on live where it can 1 shot you if it crits.
It isn’t smart to nerf based on prepatch but given that they’ve ruined classes because of prepatch for much shorter prepatches than this one will likely be this is unsurprising and additional classes seeing nerfs to things that are mostly okay on beta based on prepatch performance is also likely.
Because a spell doing more than 50% of anyones health unacceptable (let alone 25% without a massive cast time). It is beyond any argument. The fact that you think otherwise is highly disturbing
I also want to remind you that you cannot selectively not dispel UA if the target has other things you want to dispel on the target.
Imagine thinking Affliction and Destro were one and the same.
The only time a UA dispel one shot me while healing in Pre-Patch was when I tested dispelling two of them at once with Mass Dispel, any other time it has only hit me for a quarter of my health which is piss easy to deal with as a Holy Priest.
The only unacceptable thing I’m seeing is your comment justifying a nerf to anything right now in the most balanced patch I’ve ever seen in the last 6 years playing this game.
Things you can do to circumvent having to dispel a UA’d target:
Pop a defensive ability
CC the Warlock
Pressure the enemy team
LoS the enemy team
And my favourite: try not tunneling the enemy team
If less LFG Warriors I heal would sit the enemy team right in the open while the enemy healer pushes in to stun me and then wonder why they’re dead as they flock to the forums to complain about how they have no self-healing therefore their spec must suck my life would be a hell of a lot easier.
Btw, did you know that Dark Soul can now be dispelled?
I find it amusing that people think dispel countering 5 or more dots with one button is great design, but complain when there’s one effect that punishes dispel.
It should not oneshot, but it should absolutely discourage from dispelling the target afflicted by it.
Affli only has 1 spell school for everything, and with the bazillion interrupts this game has, no one can say that it has no counterplay.
No dispel protection is what made affli completely dead in BfA, apart from its weak defensive utility.
