Wow token is gold buying with a different branding. Pretty much anything thatâs pay to win destroys games including pay for convenience. WotLK was worse off for it and IMO that was blizzards last ditch effort to cash out on classic.
Thankfully we got SoD and I truly hope that SoD results in a real Classic plus.
You donât make a problem go away by making the problem more accessable to all players.

well wotlk classic is so popular that blizzard is continuing the franchise with cataclysm classic.
the wow token will continue to be in cata classic, which shows that the wow token has been good for the game.
and mmos are a practically dead genre in 2024 as a result.

Most of the people Iâve seen/talked to think they should have stopped here. Cata is where the game went lame. I doubt it will be as popular as Wrath was. But if they release it when nothing else is going on, Iâm sure people will flock to it /:

if anything, the wow token is keeping World of Wacraft alive because the customer base of MMOs has changed in the past 20 years.
people who game no longer game 24 hours a day⌠in 2024, people who play games online have thriving social and professional lives, they have disposable income but very little disposable time.
so a wow token allows the modern gamer to do the things they enjoy on the game without having to do all the chores.
Is that why the active player base took a dump when SoD released? Cata so far is setting up to be a dead game unless they give it some SoD type flavor.

well wotlk is basically over, Lich King died within 10 hours of ICC release.
everyone has already gotten their shadowmourne and pushed their arena rating to their goals.
less people are playing wotlk but not because of the wow token, because the expansion has run its course.
once cata classic releases. most SoD players will go play that and SoD would have quite a low playerbase at that point.
More reason not to add the token.
Just gives one more tool used to keep your slow ahh down. So instead of playing the game more, youâd rather buy more tokens so you can enjoy your 45 free minutes a week? (or whatever excuse it is)

Wow is one of the Best mmos because rmt doesnât give a real advantage, if Youâre a Bad player with gold You Will be always Bad.

I suppose no matter how you look at it, the wow token benefit will be subjective. I personally, and judging by the reactions of other posters here think that itâs negative. Itâs pay to win and lazy. IMO it kills the spirit of the game.
I will give you one positive about the wow token. It let me dump my gold into game time for SoD.
How about this. I would support a wow token that players can buy for gold for game time from blizzard directly and that gold disappears to help take gold out of the game.

yes, socializing with other people is very important.
yes i spend a much larger percentage of my time away from wow than i do in front of my computer playing the gameâŚand, as i mentioned before, that is a good thing.
what about your social life? how many hours per week do you spend playing wow?
Yeah, I must be some socially inept person for pointing out you would rather spend 30 dollars every time you sit down for 40 minutes. The token should be allowed to kill the economy of the game, because youâre being âresponsibleâ with your time(youâre not).
And completely not seeing where youâre putting the money, or how it affects anyone else â that part was obvious from the start.
