I have not been in a single party where anyone roasted the tank or healer.
And I’m on Herod horde side. I’ve also leveled 2 60’s and 3 50’s.

I’ve never had a word said to me when I’m tanking. That could also be because the second a dps does something stupid i will tell them that they can be replaced in about 30 seconds.

Really though, your tank is probably sober, the healer drunk, and the DPS are on their 10th energy drink
Nah, not toxic at all, If I’m tanking I just kick people that rage, happened only once tho and was a passive agressive thing like " don’t tell me how to do my job and I don’t tell how to do yours".
Tanking is taxing because you have to deal with most of the time players that have no clue what they are doing like mages that use arcane explosion and Cone of Cold on the get-go or blink - nova…or rogues that stealth all dungeon for some random reason instead of just back stabbing or SS…
Takes patience and a 1h and shield instead of DW/2h to tank for randoms…
I am not a fan of the forum trend where an op makes an unfounded claim and puts the onus on everyone else to validate it. Lines like “am i wrong”, “prove me wrong” have to be one of the most obtuse things going around. If your going to make a wide ranging statement on the demographics or social conduct of the game, bring some actual info/stats/research to the table to back your opinion.

Everyone has to deal with that kind of player from time to time. It’s not just tanks.

If you pull an additional pack people will whinge.
If you kill bosses that don’t benefit the DPS or make their run longer than expected they will whinge.
If you wipe due to tank dying people will whinge.
If you die due to not being geared enough people will whinge.
If you try and get gear from a boss that the rest of the group doesn’t need people will whinge.
insert many more things that cause people to whinge…
Tank drops group or respecs DPS.
Warriors refuse to tank believing they need to respec to prot. But they really don’t need to look into high prot builds at all until endgame. Its the same with healers not speccing into healing … harder, sure, but still doable.
But honestly, I think warriors these days just don’t want the responsability and decision making that is required of tanks. Tanks lead. They pull, they mark targets, they set priorities, they tell others what they need. That being said, just like in Vanilla, many DPS classes don’t give a damn about what the tank wants and do their own thing, which makes tanking a really frustrating experience.
Problem now is that since so many warriors refuse to tank and instead join as dps, other warriors who might WANT to tank will decline group invites when there are already warriors in the group as they don’t want to compete with other warriors for gear when they are the ones doing all the hard work. I mean, who can blame them?

Honestly, I’d say it’s the players that cut corners and wanna “zoom zoom” through content are why people refuse. There is already added pressure on tanking and zooming about isn’t helping.
Did you get alot of hate whispers ? The last time I bailed from bad group I got a ton of whispers and they black listed me .
Also got black listed because I didn’t join a random invite group that was questing . I was finished with quest heading off to hand in too. Love mmos

I’ve made plenty of mistakes relearning content. Very little opposition or outrage. I’ve met a few more blunt people, but that’s about it.
I actually like tanking most of the time. But I don’t often respond to the LF Tank spam.
I prefer to make my own groups so I can control who is coming. Like most of us, I run dungeons to gather the gear I want (pvp gear and tank gear mainly). Being a tank and the group starter/leader allows me to gather my gear faster. Mainly, I just don’t invite dps warriors. UBRS is tricky though because you need two tanks for Drak. That’s the one exception I guess.
I’m sure that this mentality/strategy is not super uncommon, leading to the shortage of tanks being perceived as maybe a little worse than it is. Nonetheless, dps warriors should be willing to tank more 5 man dungeons. (I tank as 31/20 Arms PvP.) Yes, DPSing is easier, but at the end of the day, tanking saves me a lot of time. Usually when an item that I want drops, I get it the first time I see it (unless it’s something that many classes want, like Painweaver…). That’s a luxury that Horde warriors definitely have in terms of dungeon tanking and loot competition.
I’m a pretty experienced tank and i pug all the time. As a tank I can control most scenerios and as a druid tank I can throw hots on myself before big pulls. Remember there is no randomized dungeons, even pats make the same rotation. The only dungeon that I would say pugging is difficult is DM N due to the boss pat in the courtyard.
