The Realm Status page shows the wrong information. All servers are offline in the game, but the Realm status page found at https://worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com/en-us/game/status/us < Shows the majority of the Realms to be online. This is for 1/16/2024 patch maintenance
Seconding this, figured it was too good to be true on such a big patch day, but still kind of annoying to have to login to the game to check, rather than looking at server status page.

this was the link a GM gave me when I did a support ticket. Though I went ahead and posted there too.
It’s been a very long time since “Realm Status” accurately reflected what it really takes to log into a game server. Stuff like authentication servers and other game-wide infrastructure aren’t reported there. The status page is simply outdated by the more complicated system design since about Cataclysm.
I do hope the developers will spend some effort to catch it up, but in the meanwhile, users simply can’t trust it. If there’s scheduled downtime, the only safe assumption is that the outage will persist AT LEAST as long as announced.
