Looks like Blizzard is killing WOW themselves, so really they are the wow killer.
Will Elyon pick up the pieces? They seem to be offering Everything WOW does right (like the WOW clones of the past) and offering alot of what other mmos did right, and offering all their niches in 1 game.
Can wow Survive a bad SL and a Elyon Release? What do you think?
Who knows? I’m certainly not interested in the graphics or visuals so far, but I haven’t even heard of it so the marketing team for it hasn’t done an amazing job.
WoW does need to have a better expansion than BfA, and hopefully Shadowlands delivers. They’ve followed the good-bad-good expansion pattern but who knows if they’ll maintain it? Only time will tell, but I just don’t see a generic looking MMO taking over anytime soon.

Marketing is bad.
The team is not, its far from Generic.
Its Blue Hole (Tera/Aion) and Kakao (BDO) Joint Development.
I think the marketing has been bad, as its been delayed so many times that they just changed the name, they dont want to market it and have to delay again.

Kinda reminds me of Rift. You know, the game that killed WoW.
Dungeons, Raids, Housing, WPVP Done right, Air PVE/PVP, 1v1/2v2/3v3 Arena, BGs, GVG, RVR, Constested WBs, 500v500 Optimized, not laggy at all.
IDK man, the beta looks VERY Promising.
Only MMO that will do any numbers on WoW are FF14 tbh.
I mean…it looks like a standard Korean MMO, with the standard high fantasy races, the same standard classes, it visually reminds me of Final Fantasy/Guild Wars 2, ew to ANY forced PvP no matter what.
The instanced housing is nice, but it would have to do better than Wildstar or Final Fantasy for it to be outstanding.
But nothing about it stands out? It’s just a generic, standard Korean MMO.
The real WoW killer was the friends we made along the way.
FF14 already has more active players than WOW in NA.
FF14 has no PVP. PVP is a large part of the remaining wow players.
Another asian mmo that will be pay to win. Nothing to see here.
In all fairness vanilla rift was absolutely a great game. Only in the expansion when you had to pay real money for your earring slot is when it started to go downhill.
If WoW goes down? It will be due to killing itself from bizarre, anti-fun dev decision after decision.
I honestly think ESO and FFXIV are more likely to vulture up the remnants if WoW goes down than any of the new things coming out. This is an old game with a lot of older players that are set in their ways.
Has non Instanced housing as well as Instanced, and Archeage style. So yes, 100x better than FF14 housing, which is a joke.
Wildstar sounded equally as amazing on paper.

Not that those games can’t be fun, but they almost never have the long lasting sustainability necessary to be “WoW killers.”
