The real reason WoW Classic Honor is failing this time

It was a blatant clickbait title. Honor has been out just a little over 24 hours.

They’re taking an article from over two months ago explaining things during launches inflated caps.

Somehow they think that that there’s just as many people playing NOW as at launch

OFC it wasnt, right out the gate, that was a lie. Layers did not exist. So, that alone defies the statement that no changes will be made.

EOS.

Mini, Did you not read the quote I provided?

A quote, from 2.5 months ago during inflated server caps to account for launch. We’re not at launch caps anymore, 100%, I’d bet money we’re at no more than 5k per server, which is still greater than vanilla caps but not the 10k+ we were at launch

Then and only then will he win a Darwin Award.

I literally said those numbers were made up. Try reading comprehension. I was giving you an example of how it works.

that’ll be worse for a lot of people. day 1 all the pvp was in hillsbrad. over the next weeks the hundreds in hillsbrad will split up into gank squads in every single zone as they realize it’s much better honor that way

Without layers they couldn’t have inflated the cap, so they’re not entirely separate, they had to add layers to increase the cap at launch because throwing another 3k players into already crowded zones would be a death sentence to the server.

It’s not a direct 1 layer = 3k player cap anymore, but we’re not sitting at a point that a “medium” server is higher than a full server in vanilla anymore either, that would break the game

I did, yes.

But what made you come to the conclusion that you did?

I read that and see they are talking about characters created.

Oh right, that post was from BEFORE launch even… it’s basically a useless post now, we’re not at 10-20k caps anymore

Like I said, here’s the reason:

More people are 60 than in April of 2005
More people are 60 and bored than in April of 2005
More people started playing the game waiting for pvp to come than in April of 2005

And what makes you say that? Because they removed layering? And you believe that has to do with population size, vs. the sheer fact that their goodwill with much of the Classic player base was hinged on the fact that they promised to remove layering before phase two, no matter what?

Please post your sources on realm population to show that realms post-layering are now roughly ‘true vanilla’ now.

Post your sources that we’re still at 10k+

My thoughts are based off the fact that Vanilla systems aren’t made to support large server caps.

I don’t need to post my sources – I didn’t make a claim to population size.

You did.

Thanks

go to a dead server then

stop complaining

Vanilla can’t support huge mega servers without changes they already said they’re not making.

AQ40 gates with launch caps would be a mess.
Node spawns would be screwed
100 other things

Layering didn’t change the overall true realm population count. Blizzard also didn’t just delete player accounts once layering went offline just because a realm had a higher population than a historical vanilla server would have.

Did people quit since Classic launch? Sure. Did a server with 4x the number of vanilla server players quit down to 1=1? Highly doubtful.

It’s not 1=1, hence long queues during peak times

Then I don’t think saying realms are closer to true vanilla realm populations is an accurate statement. Or even an accurate guess, generally speaking.

But to each their own.
