GDKP was great day 1 2019 Classic.
GDKP was not great 2024 Classic.
It 100% hurt SoDs player numbers for P2, but thats mostly because players were conditioned to look at GDKP as a strong gold making method opposed to picking flowers and level 25 was ez1day to achieve.
The rogue I’m going to gank you with will never have any logs, it’s just a PVP character. I’ll be ranking on it.

Was GDKP around when Classic started? I don’t remember even hearing about it until closer to the end of original Classic. Then it took over in TBC.

GDKPs started popping up pretty solid around BWL, but it wasnt the main raiding method.
By the time P2 Wrath dropped GDKP became the main raiding method which created a barrier of entry in gold due to how old the servers are with items going for gold cap.

Most guilds transitioned to GDKP once token dropped.
Bro my guild ran the largest gdkp discord on Benediction.
We were doing like 40 runs a week, those people were all in guilds, it was a coalition of guilds all on 1 discord.
You can even see it on logs it will be the actual guilds name then gdkp in the name because the guild main raids.
This is 100% false, gdkps are 99% alts
Pro tip there’s nothing dropping in GDKP’s you can’t get just as easily in a non GDKP run.
