The Raven Hill Inn

I am hereby throwing down the gauntlet.

I challenge any player to fight me in the Raven Hill Inn on release day. The challengers can take the first swing.

Are you man (or woman) enough?

Hoping people will use aoe? (Yea, I know!!) :sunglasses:

While we’re on the topic of raven hill inn for some reason I walked in there recently on retail and there’s like a max level npc in there for some reason?? Just slaughtered my poor level 20 priest

IIRC it only required taking a pvp swing. At least in that location.

Naah, if I think, what you are thinking of, they are neutral, until hit.

Dunno about that, I would swear that any attempt at ganking was… regrettable.

Look at Alliance / Horde reaction. They are neutral until you hit them. The scary part though, is they don’t become visible when attacking, nor do they generate any log. You will just feel the hits and see your life go away. Won’t even tell you what killed you

My memory has failed me (or maybe it was changed since vanilla?)

Could very well be. I seem to recall they would attack any horde player at one point in time, not alliance though. Which likely was a bug.

Raven hill was an empty town in Classic but then it became a quest hub with Worgen npc’s added in Cataclysm.

Well, obviously not completly empty. Also, don’t forget Jitter’s did hang out there.

and the gobby vendor.

Aye, him as well. Dunno how I could forget. Guess age is catching up :joy:

Wasn’t there a time when the Raven Hill cemetery did not act as a respawn cemetery, and you had to run back from either Darkshire or Tower Hill?

Hmmm, don’t really recall. I looked up some patch notes, and only thing I found, was, and I quote;

But talking about Raven Hill / Duskwood in general. Someone made a video of a remade Duskwood / Raven Hill in the Unreal 4 engine. Looks pretty cool, although it wouldn’t fit with the warcraft world.

I wish wow had these graphics

Yeah they are rather nice, although I don’t think they would fit the World of Warcraft theme. Besides, Blizzard has always been keen on lower graphics so people with potato PC’s could play their games. Requirements has gone up a bit, but not much, over the years.

Yea it’s smart for business. On the other hand, the unreal 4 engine is impressively smooth on “not up to date” hardware configs.

I couldn’t say. Been out of the loop for a long time by now. Another factor would ofc be they would have to pay for using the Unreal engine to, Epic I think it is. Not sure they would want that.

I knew you weren’t going to keep your word, rofl.
