The raider.io solution that works 100% of the time!

Clickbait title aside, I've read a huge number of threads where people are complaining about raider.io this and raider.io that, and I've noticed some very common "issues" that people bring up. Below are some of these issues, followed by possible solutions:

"I always get declined."
- Make your own group.
- Run with friends and guildies, they don't care about your score.

"My score's not high enough."
- Make your own group.
- Run with friends and guildies, they don't care about your score.
- Do a key appropriate to your score.

"People want 1k score to do 7s."
- Make your own group.
- Run with friends and guildies, they don't care about your score.

"I do m+ late in the week and by that time the leaderboards on my server are full and my runs don't count, so my score sucks."
- Make your own group
- Run with friends and guildies, they don't care about your score.
- Grab a pug from a low pop server so that your run gets scored (use raider.io to see that realm's leaderboards).

Notice how all of these "problems" have a common solution? Believe it or not, you can get around every raider.io issue if you make your own group. Can't get declined if you're the leader. Can't have too low of a score if you're the one deciding what score is acceptable.

Alternatively, run with a group of friends or guildies. I don't know exactly what my score is but I know it's objectively low for someone that's 6/8M and 380 ilvl equipped. Guess what? It doesn't matter at all because I always run m+ with people I know. My score could be zero and it would make not one bit of difference to me, because my friends and guildies don't check my score. Another benefit of running with people you know is that you won't have the problem of leavers that seems be be plaguing the pug m+ scene.

Every single player has the ability to get into m+ runs. Depending on your skill, class, and spec it may or may not be a 10. But you can't blame raider.io for not being able to do m+ when the solution is entirely in your hands.

TL;DR version: make your own group, or run with friends and guildies.

This! And if you don't have any, or don't have any who like doing M+, start making some. Nobody has a monopoly on friendship, it's not just for elitists.

It might take some time to find a good group and/or guild, but it's super worth it once you do.

works everytime.
With all the hate it gets you would think filling a group by just saying "not using raider.io because its elitist" would be near instant.

All filled with relaxed, chill, good players of course that are currently being held down by raider.io.
I get into mythic + fine without IO.
Granted, I hate them.
If I made my own group I wouldn't be able to come here and blame a stupid addon for all my short comings.
Don't be silly, if i create the group, how will i blame other people for me being bad at M+ and not getting invited to groups?
How about 4/5 members needs to be one week old guildmates.

M+ is suppose to be played with ppl you trust and not with randos

Remember ML?? do we have ML?? do you want M+ to go the same way?? good luck to yall

The score is inherently stupid because it only measures time not what you actually contribute. You can, and there has been, ways to game mechanics to increase time, exploits you might call them. Also, me having a +10 in Shrine in no way tells you anything about how good I am in Waycrest, just that I did a +10 Shrine.

Well, the reason people say there is apparently no community is because of such ridiculous standards like these. As someone who has played with people who should probably not be doing greater than 5s, they demand high scores and judge on those high scores even when they do not have it. Its honestly a problem all throughout and not just at the top, which is why I view the system as poor.

Do you not think it is inherently a problem that you have to grab a pug from a low pop server for your score to appear in the first place? Why should people have to worry, especially a more casual player, about a 3rd parties inner workings? I bet most people are unaware of you can even link your alts or how runs are scored anyway.

Yes, make your own group but that does not mean the issues you put forth are all solved by making your own group. Those are problems people have with the system in the first place and denying that is ignorant.

Yes it's a problem. It's not raider.io's problem though, it's Blizzard's limit on the leaderboards that's the problem. Raider.io does have many of its own problems, like not accounting for varying difficulty of affixes or not accounting for varying difficulty of dungeons.

But again, the solution to all of these "problems" is to make your own group or run with friends and guildies. If you do that, raider.io becomes completely meaningless.
I completely agree with the OP of this thread. I have a stable group I run with and it's been working like a charm. No one judges anyone by their IO.
I didn't have a much of an opinion one way or the other about IO, but now that I've started to get into M+'s, I rather enjoy it.

1) Since iLvl can't gauge anything anymore, IO is the best thing to use. Past experience doesn't always prove much either, but it's the best tool we've got.

2) Personally, I enjoy watching my score go up. Kind of like my own little goals to hit. I think I'm at 487 now or something. Completed a +8, and it's overall, been pretty fun!
PRO TIP: JOIN A GUILD, preferably a decent one

I will do legit +10 carry runs for people who have never gone past +2 if they are in my guild. If you are not in my guild, then you will not be in them.

But because it is overtuned there are few players actually doing mythic plus anymore.

So you cannot easily make your own group.

Overtuning makes for a Death Spiral in mythic plus!

I already have a part time job.

I do not have time for another job known as a "raiding guild" or other "high end content" guild.

Why?

Because you have to commit to working for the guild on their schedule for hours and hours a week.

Maybe it is the raid schedule.
Or some other schedule.

But it takes 20 hours a week often times!

No thanks!

I agree, I love raider.io.

I play one of the worst mythic plus specs in the game and still easily managed to get 1100 score. If a ret can do it, so can you. Unless you're terrible of course, and this won't apply to you anyway.

My guild runs once a week for three hours. We recently finished normal after extending on the ghuune and then proceeded to down three heroic bosses that night.

You don't have to devote a lot of time to progress in a raid when you're with a guild.
If your late to the party, making your own group isn't a good solution. Especially this late in a raid tier. If you're behind in io score and gear and don't know good people to play with making your own group is actually a nightmare of an experience.

1) Good tanks/healers have no reason to do low end content. this is a problem that leads to an extreme shortage, it's particular bad alliance side.

Enjoy waiting 2 hours looking for a tank/healer for your low key that doesn't know what they're doing. people don't have time for that.

2 ) Some dungeons are considerably harder than others and you may not even want to run that dungeon because it doesn't drop items your looking for. If you make your own group the chance you find the key you're looking for is low.

IF you have a low io score the best solution is actually to buy high end runs. Making your own group is a painful experience that will take many hours of wiping, and waiting for tanks and healers who know how do them.

I can get any key I want, but I started at the start of the raid tier, and play a healer. But I'm not so ignorant as to believe anyone can just make their own group and get access to the content they want. It doesn't work that way. There is no incentive for good players to go back and do lower keys.
So for all who dont know how raider i.o. works is if you complete a dungeon and make it on blizzards top 500 leaderboard for that dungeon that week you will get a score. this worked great in legion but not so good in BFA. this is because for some reason people are pushing keys harder then ever which good job to everyone doing so i am very happy to see this change but it is causing the leaderboards to fill the top 500 slots with very very high keys which because there is only 500 slots and this leaderboard is the only pool of data raider i.o. can pull from

So posted a fourm up a few weeks back and said i wanted blizzard to increase size of leadership boards to allow raider i.o. a bigger pool of info so more keys count and then also posted the question in the Q and A!!!! well it got asked and there answer was better then anything i could have hoped for..... there going to make your dungeon progress now show up in the ARMORY!!!! that means all your keys will now count and your score is more of a true comparison with your skill then what it is right now!!! thank your blizzard for you have done everyone a great service and now your score is your own responsibility and you cant pretend its not!!!!

You are all welcome and now there is going to be a bigger ppol and all you keys will count!!!! now plz NVR AGAIN MAKE A THREAD ABOUT I.O. because you are not good enough to do a 10!!!
