Wowhead has datamaned an item called “the tabard of the queen’s champion”, this doesn’t mean anything, it’s just an item; but we know who he refers to as the “queen’s champion”. yes sylvanas it is the “queen soul in banshee” and that its champion is without a doubt nathanos blightcaller “the dog of the horde”, and well what I am going to do is I want to ask the developers of Blizzard, when it will return Nathanos to the story of wow?
When Danuser convinces the rest of the writing team that Sylvanas has spent enough time in the Maw and deserves to go back to Azeroth.

Although Nathanos’s last words were: “It doesn’t matter if I die because I will return” those were the last words before Tyrande whisperwinds transformed into the night warrior the most
Yeah, It be way too soon and some on the team have to be going this would make tree she burned seem like childs play really.
3 year sentence…hahahaha, buy stock in popcorn. and fire extinguishers. The forum would light up.
DH’s got a longer sentence. and all they did was actually help the world out raiding a demon world. they got life sentences for justifiable homicide really. Only legion attacking changed the deal.

I thought I was told at some point that was what happened, though I can’t find any cannon source stating such. (Anyone who reads the books who can confirm/deny from something in there? I don’t read the books.) I found that a sorely disappointing answer because it would have been MUCH more interesting, IMO to have had him show back up in Shadowlands and be part of what pulled Sylvanas back to herself. Since if there is one person who would tell the Jailer to go to hell no matter what the personal risk, it would have been Nathanos. Nathanos would have had a finger for the Jailer… one on each hand. 
I didn’t love him, per se, but he was interesting and I never regretted seeing him come onto the scene. His voice actor is utterly amazing and the character’s motivations/ways of doing things were different from most other WoW lore figures who I find a hell of a lot more predictable. Also, he played well with/off Sylvanas, who I refuse to hate simply because she was taken out of character to achieve an end which was thought up without thinking up a logical way to get there. I was a big fan of Sylvanas before and am still a fan of her. Her with Nathanos as her +1 makes things much more interesting in Azeroth.
As a character, I would be sorry to see Nathanos be gone.

I don’t know what character you’re thinking of but it certainly wasn’t Nathanos. Nathanos was a simpering toady who loved nothing more than kissing up to power. The only thing he’d do to the Jailer is lick his boots.
If Sylvanas was to find him the writers would probably come up with a reason for him to still hang around.
Like, Sylvanas could wear him like a bracelet if his soul was fused with metal. Or just a faceless soul that’ll follow her around Azeroth like the good puppy that he was because his body, that Sylvanas got him and used her Val’kyr to put his soul in, would probably have been cremated. Or used for target practice.
He deserves to search in vain for Sylvanas in The Maw for eternity, so hopefully never, just like Sylvanas.
I hope both never show up again. I hate them soooooo much.
I think Danuser got spanked for doing a genocide for lore reasons he couldn’t justify, so his self insert sylvanus simp probably won’t return as punishment.

And the back out wasn’t good either.
The souls now get double punished. First they got sent there because of the plan. And if this takes 1000 years…some souls are suffering that 1000 years till Sylvanas finds them.
This was not most well thought out ending to this imo. Since imo those souls are suffering more than Sylvanas is.

Sorry peeps, I accidentally killed Nathanos in the Maw and all I got was 35 Anima 
I thought it was kind of strange that Sylvanas kept disappearing during BfA and then SLs.
She had bit parts, important to the story line but still there were long segments where she was MIA and Nathanos wasn’t around much either except hanging out on the ship.
So Idk.
I think they’ll bring them back but it probably won’t be this expac.
Hopefully he got the blue fart treatment.
Hopefully Sylvanas doesn’t find said fart in the Maw.
