The process for collecting old mogs needs to change ASAP

I can’t believe how unbelievably BORING and lengthy it is trying to 100% just one dungeon from BFA. It’s shocking, honestly. I’ve run Freehold mythic at least 90 times including back in actual BFA when I used to do it… I’m at 75%. And apparently, Normal and Hero don’t share appearances, WOW cool… Mechagon is EVEN WORSE! You have to run it apparently uhhh 4 times at least? And don’t get me started on the fact that Naxx, Ulduar have 10m and 25m modes, ICC has 10, 10 Hero, 25, 25 hero… WTF bro?

I don’t see who has the time to do any of these. It would take you 15 hours a day for like a year to collect an entire xpac… I hate the way collecting stuff works in this game, and totally understand now why no one does it, and they just sit in current xpac

You’re doing optional content (collecting mogs.)

If it’s so boring then stop doing it.

Collecting transmogs from old raids and dungeons is easier now than it has ever been, assuming you’re collecting more than just a single armor type.
Also a lot of the things you listed are positives for some people. We’d rather spend week after week alone inside a familiar setting collecting things. It’s a preferred playstyle.

The really fun part is when you achieve 100% nothing happens. Collecting mounts is fun, why not do that instead?

Ulduar is “flex” now due to Timewalking afaik, so at least its loot pools are mixed together.

:point_up_2:

Seriously. The amount of WoW players who will do things they don’t enjoy for no real reason is wild. Just wild.

If you’re not having fun with what you do, just stop doing it. If you realize nothing in the game is fun or you can’t engage in any of the fun parts of the game without having to play the unfun parts of the game, you can also just stop playing Retail WoW. EZ PZ.

Alllll of this. I would rather be in Icecrown to get the mount than doing half the stuff available.

No one needs the time to max out all the mog from any instance because it is not necessary to play the game.

So don’t worry about it.

Or if you choose to pursue it, remember, it’s a journey, not a destination. Put on some tunes, sit back and enjoy!

If they don’t have the patience to run instances for mog, I don’t think they will have the patience for camping mounts, let alone farming Invincible.

I paid for a sub for pretty much the entire time Shadowlands was live but disliked it so much that I hit 60 on one character and then spent the next 2 years playing old content instead. I missed probably 97% of everything in Shadowlands but felt my time was better spent farming old mounts from all the other expansions.

You gotta pick the content you wanna do and just do it :dracthyr_shrug:

Except for more recent raids. Went into Vault of the Incarnates the other night and was sad at the personal loot and only getting a rep token on many bosses :frowning:

I’m old school, so it would be Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Journey, REO Speedwagon, Aerosmith, Chicago, maybe some Beatles depending on my mood, ect.

I will continually advocate removing lockouts for legacy content. Heroic dungeons and all difficulties of raids. There’s no use for it, and they’ve increasingly made xmog easier to collect so this is the logical next step.

I will always find it funny that people will do things they don’t enjoy for pixels in a 20 year old game

so dont do it?
the LAST thing i want is mogs handed to me. I dont mind running the old content…though I think being able to run thru it should be easy enough. Im not there for a challenge when im solely there for mog farming

That’s because DF raids are not classified as Legacy Raids. They will be with Midnight then Legacy Mode will be turned on (which is the case with all raids prior to the current and last expansion).

I’m sorry for your loss. I did pretty much the same as you, except I never bought SL in the first place. I spent all of SL at level 50 and still had plenty to do. :dracthyr_crylaugh:

You didn’t miss much. Castle Nathria was amazing but other than that (and the M+ changes) you didn’t miss much.

This is part of the reason remix exists.

Oh yeah, tons to do here. 20 year old game, I’ve played it the majority of the time it’s been a thing and I still have plenty of older content I skipped but can go back to. I think I also finally got motivated to level allied races for armor unlocks/achievements, got Loremaster too using all those AR alts doing whole zones of questing for xp. I’m sure there are other things I’m forgetting but you get the idea, stuff I wanted/wanted to do but just never got around to cause in current content everything’s a grind.

I mean, I’d say I have almost the entire SL expansion to go back to but apparently opening it up on alts is iffy these days. I would regret not getting all those mounts but I hit the 500 achievement in DF anyway and now I have every raid drop mount up to WoD (minus 3). So I still did things I enjoyed, got stuff I wanted and had plenty of new alts to throw around for more clears/drop chances.

Pretty much my only regret during that time was giving Shadowlands a second chance and trying to work up a 2nd character via the world quest option instead of just doing the whole storyline over again from the beginning. That was a horrible, horrible mistake.
