The problem with wow isn’t that arena is bad

The problem is the game is no longer an mmo. I’m not sure what I’d categorize it as but after playing hardcore, retail does not feel like an mmo. It feels like a failed e sport.

So people find the opportunity cost of games like Dota 2 and LoL to be rewarding. Those games make more sense to invest time in because they are more fleshed out and have established scenes.

And then WoW loses more subs to games like Final Fantasy because other mmos feel more like an mmo. So wow is just in this weird middle age crisis mode, trying to find an identity after being in the market so long.

And to be honest, blizzard management isn’t able to fix these issues because of…well I don’t really know why. It’s possible they are in a creative rut or bad management. Who knows. But they need to find a clear direction back to turning the game into an mmo, rather than cater to the mythic or serious wow pvp scene if this game is to return to its former glory.

add battlegroups back (maybe like 3 or 4 per region) then add events like the weekly events except its X battle group vs. Y then it swaps the next week, I want to see the drama of “premades suck” “bgs on bloodlust > all” “glad on nightfall means nothing”

Most of the top players congregate on the same servers anyways, at the very least it create inequity in the community which sparks spreading of minds which then sparks growth of new community. The whole everyone against everyone is really stale when reputation is non existent (practically the case for anybody outside of r1 / upper glad levels of competition)

Exceedingly uncommon and unusual Swole W take. I look forward to more of these.

Blizzard could easily, once again, lock things down to server and faction but that would require the merging and shutting down of servers which they won’t do because it would be a tacit admission of a dwindling game population.

Classic Plus, if they ever decide to do this, is their only real chance to execute.

They should just make Dragon flight Hardcore only. Once you die you’re done bye Felicia :wave:t2:

Mmos in general are dwindling. Not just wow. Its an aging player base on top of culture shift. Its not 2004 anymore.

WoW 100% feels like an MMO. What it doesn’t feel like is an MMORPG

Retail has zero sense of community and character agency. But blizzard isn’t to blame for this, it’s the playerbase that wants instant gratification. People really pay $15/month to /afk in cities or go out of their way avoid player interaction. Do what you want with your money but it’s a really low-value utilization of said money considering what type of game you’re paying to play.

I don’t mind paying for Wow. I still enjoy it to an extent. I’ve mostly been doing PVP but this for me is why I quit. Dragonflight PVP still has the same bugs that exist in Wow Classic, Classic Hardcore Etc. The same bugs in Vanilla BG’s, exist in Dragonflight BG’s.

Kind of sad for an 18 year old game to still have 18 year old bugs and exploits.

ik you’re a new player but WoW hasn’t been an mmorpg since like mop

the addition of lfg/lfr/crossrealm everything just turned the game into a spreadsheet simulator where there’s always a better player/group with just a button press away

there used to be server community and you were incentivized to work with other players
now it’s easier to just flame/replace them at the first minor inconvenience

Its the grinders. People that OCD on nodes and repeating content for gold or mounts. Its almost fixed in PVP because there is nothing for solo players so you are forced into being in a guild and suckling to their arena or rbg timelines.

Wow not feeling like an mmo is why solo shuffle should have never existed in its current form, it should have rolled into 3v3. Dont want to make friends or get btags queue up solo into 3v3 and be done with it. Separating the playerbase and creating two rulesets was not the answer, the ss ruleset is an absolute joke and should never be balanced around.

That being said the lfg ui is an absolute joke and should have been redesigned years ago, it has the functionality that a 2nd year CS student could code currently

yeah the problem is that there are multiple DRs instead of only on DR for every kind of CC, I Agree but that is not gonna change because devs don’t play the game sadly
