The valor points didn’t fix anything. It is still immensely time consuming to gear up for pve via upgrades. Let me explain:
PVP:
rich person buys carries, gets to 1800-2100 RBG CR in 1 or 2 weeks tops
Said person can buy all his gear AND IMMEDIATELY upgrade everything to 220-226
If not rich, and if a decent player, still can farm at least 1800 in 1 or 2 weeks and immediately be full ilvl 220.
PVE:
most of the playerbase doesn’t do more than mythic raiding. Therefore they are stuck at ilvl 213 rewards
assuming you cap all your valor points and upgrade a few items, you’re stuck because you can’t farm anymore VP. God forbid you have to upgrade a weapon because it’s very, very expensive.
your’re stuck because you can’t upgrade anymore. depending on luck with drops it might take you between 1 and 2 months to be 220. You can only rely on the 750 valors per week from now on.
Please explain to me how is it just that PVP players can buy their gear all at once while PvE players depend on RNG. Either remove the cap on valor points, or limit how much rating a person can get per week, like 200-300 rating per week at max. This would equalize gear gains. It makes no sense that someone can spam RBGS and still get honor, while someone else can spam Mythic+ and be unable to get valor points.
Doing pvp to gear for pve IS NOT THE PROBLEM. The problem is THE SPEED at which PVP gear is acquired, and the 9.1 PvP gear change won’t change a single thing. It will still be the FASTEST way to gear up for heroic raiding . **
As we all have access to the same content and same systems, gear gains ARE equal. Just because you and others choose not to avail yourselves of certain paths, doesn’t mean everything is out of whack. You do less content, you gear slower. Seems pretty equal to me and FAR less selfish than your “i want to cap the progress of those willing to do more so that they don’t outgear me” approach.
What an inanely reductive response. “Oh you don’t like doing EVERYTHING in the game? Not the game for you.”
It is absolutely reasonable that two similar gearing systems in two different types of content be mirrors of each other rather than one be vastly superior to end game gearing vs one being exclusively for alts.
How is it equal that pvp players can get multiple 226 a week and m+ players have to wait for the vault? We just need a another tier after KSM to upgrade items further is all.
Could say the same as i never said game wasn’t for someone. Im saying it’s one whole game with multiple paths. If someone does more content they gear faster. Pretty simple concept.
Because, as i said before, we arent pvp players vs pve players. We are all players with plenty of content available to us. You don’t want to pvp at all, fine, but don’t pretend like you cant or like it’s an us and them deal.
We don’t know the exact numbers yet, but PvP gear will have a significantly lower ilvl in PvE. They’re also reintroducing decay and making it so you have to actively maintain your rank to keep the gear.
Those two issues, combined with KSM gear upgrades being introduced from the start of the season should make PvP significantly less attractive for PvE gearing next season.
Why is adding more higher end gear sources such an issue for you? Never once did I say I cant pvp or its pve vs pvp. I just said add another tier on top of valor like all 20’s in time so we the players can maybe get another source of 226 gear a week from m+.
I didn’t read anything about “decay” being reintroduced (I don’t even know what that is, tbh). I religiously check WowHead every day, so I must have missed something.
Anyways, it will still be the FASTEST way to gear up for heroic raiding. Do I even need to repeat the word on every post to make myself understood?
I don’t mind people gearing up via PVP. That’s the least of my issues. It’s the fact that the speed of gear gains are astronomically out of proportion compared to PVE players because we are locked out of the currency that we need to upgrade our items behind a cap, whereas honor is infinitely farmable and you can upgrade pieces at your heart’s desire., which is why I’m asking for the removal of valor points cap or to limit how much ranking a person can get per week, so the speed at which both types of content gear up is similar and JUST.
The goal was never to affect time. The goal was to let us be done with chasing specific BiS items by allowing us to acquire and upgrade any version from any key level.
Why do you use the word stuck? I don’t see myself as stuck. I – gladly and with relief compared to previous xpacs – see myself as done.
This. You want something? Partake in the content where it is. Let gear be gear.
Didn’t say it was. What’s an issue for me is people not partaking in avenues that already exist and then claiming things are unfair and need to change.
I mean you kinda did when you split them into two groups
This right here is the problem. If you participated in all content available to you this wouldnt be an issue. Instead you want to play like you want and the game to adapt around your playstyle.
It’s fun to ignore the massive conquest cap time gating 4.5 months into the season when it isn’t quite an issue anymore.
And without a few great vault items the conquest cap isn’t high enough yet to buy every slot.
And, that players can buy a PvP rank and sit it and still get the rewards I feel is a failure of the PvP system.
When season 2 launches and PvPers don’t buy a single item for 4 weeks straight saving for a weapon make sure you make a few posts about how fast PvP gearing is and how they bought their full set already.
lol you’re right. PvP rating is not capped, but M+ is so capped in valor points and gearing chance wise.
Blizz INTENTIONALLY let loose the pvp system so they can funnel players into pvp more, which can somehow help with their e-sports shenanigan. idk go figure
