The problem with questing in BFA

this isn’t a complaint, more like seeing a very long pattern i’m seeing as i quest.

the first problem i’m seeing is how very close together all the npcs are to each other in order for blizz to keep file sizes low for this expansion. Problem with this is the fact, iot now takes a long time to kill mobs now, and becauseuse of that, you’ll pull one mob for 5-10 minutes, and while you’re downing that mob, walker mobs with a very long walking path will slowly but nbsurely get within aggro range, and not only tanking the current mob, but new ones as well. and though you could move out of the way, that is, if you’re not surrounded by other mobs becvause of everything respawning too quickly.

which is my next problem, the respawn AI, the respawn rate is just horrible, i can’t tell you how many times i’ve downed a quest boss only to have the boss respawn immediately after killing it killing me as a result, the respawn rates needs to be pulled back just a little bit, if blizz is going to make us spend that much time downing mobs, then the respawn rates needs to be equal to the time it takes to kill things solo

If you’re pulling one open world mob for 5-10 minutes, you’re probably doing something wrong. Typically a player should be able to pull at least 2 mobs at a time without too much trouble. More if they have better gear and a good handle on how to play their class and spec.

Even in a tank or healing spec, it shouldn’t take more than 60s to kill a single non-elite open world mob. The only world mobs that should take anyone more than maybe 2 minutes to defeat are perhaps the world bosses, and some of the elite rare mobs.

As for dealing with large amounts of mobs, that’s kind of a personal problem. Typically what I’ll do is pull a couple of mobs at a time to clear my way, taking care to watch my positioning and be aware of any patrols. Doing this has the dual advantage of letting me learn my pull limits, while also preventing overpulling. I have only rarely encountered a time where a boss or other world mob respawns right on top of me unless I stand around for several minutes after completing my quest objective.

Controlling pulls and learning positioning is something that every player has to learn at some point. Likewise learning how to use your abilities to best result.

Secondary to all of this, the mob respawn timer is (theoretically) based on the number of players in the area. More players = higher respawn rate. Typically the respawn rate for newer content is dialed way up to accommodate for the larger number of players in the areas, so if you’ve been questing in areas where there’s a world quest or newly-added content, then you’re going to see a higher respawn rate by default.

You need to get a higher gear level through dungeons, crafting, etc. Blizzard broke the game at 120 with scaling and haven’t done much to fix it.

I have no idea how you came to that conclusion.
