The Problem with Hunters is mostly gigabuffed Lone Wolf

Not saying Melee specialist and Duel Wield don’t need some adjustments (prolly lower the CD from 3-4 for raptor strike and lower the same weapon type dmg bonus to like 20% to start) but lone wolf being a flat 30% dmg increase is just dumb gameplay.

It’s either going to be amazing if it’s a high number or pure dogpoo if it’s too low. There is no nuance to it. Honestly people will rage over this suggestion but I think Lone Wolf should be a small dmg increase without a pet (like 10-15%) but give you Camouflage as a 1 minute CD. Let it be usable in combat (it won’t clear marks or dots or anything) and make it also give you a buff called “Ambush” could either give you a %dmg buff to your next attack made or maybe make it utility where your next attack concusses the target applying concussion shot debuff. To me that would be a lot more fun gameplay to play around of choosing having a pet vs not instead of just, I do a ton more dps vs less DPS and buffing my raid/group.

Just please turn it into something fun that actually lets you play the fantasy of a “Lone Wolf” hunter sneaking around where the trade off to no pet gives you a good utility skill that functions as a dps increase to make the dmg similar to having a pet out.

All the top parses are using pets., not sure what you are on about.

Dont worry Night Elf Hunters will still pick you off woth just their pet while in shadowmeld.

some fights people are using a pet other’s they aren’t, and if you have another hunter giving lion you’re better off no pet when you can keep full uptime on the boss, but I’m also talking about PvP where people are losing their minds dying in melee to a class that has no gap closer.

Blaming melee hunter for lone wolf when ranged hunters with it don’t do that level of damage is missing the issue.

Flanking Strike, Melee spec are better targets to reduce their damage without along us MM hunters cry.

Raptor Strike / Flanking Strike critting harder than Mortal Strike is a good place to start IMO.
