The problem with Glyph of Shadow is that it makes your character less dark. Dark is fine. We were even darker with the OG Shadowform. What it really needs to do is make the purple smoke more transparent.

Shadow form needs to put away the beans, we’re getting a bad rep at raids for being a little… oderrific
Current Shadowform looks better than the purple outline mode we had in Legion, but I wish there were fewer purple smoke particles.

I kinda think it would be better if the visual for Shadowform worked like the Void Elf racial…

It makes your voidform solid black too
Zero definition, just a black outline of your character 
I personally think shadowform should go away. It’s a flat 10% damage buff. It does nothing. Should just be baked into the spec

With all the customizations coming it would be fantastic to see glyphs get put in with some interesting looks. Shadow fiend glyphs that match each of the covenants would be super interesting to say the least. I won’t high jack your post.
I don’t main sp, but I do remember watching my dad play wow in the hard scrabble year of 04 and him being in stormwind and seeing a shadow priest for the first time and saying to him “wow dad, what are they! They look so cool!!!” Today’s version is ugly and looks like when your pic doesn’t fully load textures on a mob in swtor and you just get the weird color in a humanoid blob

I don’t understand how the glyph system is so vastly underutilized. I know a bunch of shadow priests that would do a grind or a challenge in order to get stuff like old shadowform back (myself included). They could use glyphs as an enticing reward system, but they’ve barely been worked on since Legion.

No way it has to be removed, shadowform is more of a fantasy spell than a functionality one.
I personally love it since WotLK.
But I’m ok with a glyph that removes or makes it less visible for sure.
Or they could just make the damage that the form gives into a passive but leave the shadowform there for anyone who wants to be purple.

That is such a good comparison hahaha! Weirds me out seeing the new Shadowform. Ick.
My quick fix is using the Grimoire toy from Drustvar with shadowform. Not ideal but it’s something.
