Many servers are 75-25 Horde vs. Alliance.
As another user pointed out… This is like playing basketball 25v8 on the same court designed for 5v5.
Horde:
“basketball happened on a basketball court”
“l2dribble”

Battlegrounds are meant to be teams. Open world PvP is meant to be war like Warcraft and war is never fair.
Actually, it’s more like going down to the beach with your surfboard in the middle of a hurricane.
Reasons the basketball analogy fails:
So, yeah. Hurricanes happen, and if you choose to go surfing then, you can’t really be surprised when you end up as a bloody smear on the wall.
basically 99 out of 100 horde responses
So you agree then. It’s impossible to surf during a hurricane.
I guess I can’t go surfing anymore.
Right. I’m still surprised that people are surprised by this. Nothing in the handling of PvP allows for any safeguards.
It’s a problem, all right. But it’s an authentic Vanilla problem.
No - an authentic vanilla problem would be 5v3 basketball, which can still be fun in its own way because you still have plenty of room to run around on the court. 25v8 on the same court is unplayable.
When 80% of the lower faction are afk in town. Nope. It’s more like 50vs5.
The solution is learn to get out and wPvP. Once you empty out those towns. Problem goes away.
If anyone wants a good laugh in these trying times.
Not really. Room to run around on the court is irrelevant. You can do that 25 vs 8 if you’re not trying to score points. Even in a 5 vs 3, you’re not getting anywhere near scoring a basket (quest, dungeon, what have you) unless the opposing team is shorter and slower than you.
“The problem explained so everyone can understand”
Some randoms player join a pvp server when they should roll on pve. The same players don’t want to acknowledge their mistake and try force blizz, by sheer cry, to “fix” pvp server into some monstrosity server that let they play how they want, careless of how it will hurt other players.
lol Skeram is my server. Usually there are like 15-30 horde at UBRS. But I enjoyed this.
Which ones? This can be verifiable hyperbole.
A reasonable person would just go play with someone else. They would not not play anyways, lose, then demand the inventors of basketball to change the rules.
Faction based queues on PVP servers. If Horde don’t like it, they can re-roll on PVE servers like they tell everyone else to.
Blizz: Hey come play basketball with us! It’ll be just like you used to play as a kid, 5v5 or at the worst 5v3!
Me: Ok! That sounds like fun!
Blizz: Oops, we allowed 25 extra people to play and most of them are on the other team. Sorry!
Me: Darn, well can I switch courts at least?
Blizz: No, you chose this court so it’s your fault. You’re stuck here.
Totally stuck here until you go somewhere else, which is definitely an option.
Its like… wpvp don’t have rules.
That was well know before the start.
This wasn’t a very good explanation.
Well, you can if you really want to. Just don’t whine about the experience.
Most people, however, would wait until the hurricane is over. Which is 12/10, btw.
Or: reroll on a PVE server.
There was a link floating around yesterday to a site that has compiled a good sample size of data to estimate server ratios reasonably accurately. I presume the site has been around for awhile and maybe others know which one I’m talking about? I checked out quite a few and they all ranged from 50/50 to 80/20, many being in the 70-75/25-30 range.
Sorry, I don’t have the link handy now though. Maybe someone else can link?
