This is only going to get worse with MoP. We really should have old expansion sets bonus disabled and any procs being removed once the item is unequipped.
Furthermore, the prepull stuff affects everyone in the raid. Most people do not enjoy waiting 30s+ for every boss pull so that people can swap their mastery gear or proc their pvp trinkets. There is also a good chance that if someone early pulls it will require a wipe as the early pulls results in the person being stuck in non optimal set. Overall, it is not a good experience and devs recognized it in the past and that’s why retail has dynamic updates on stats.

They still paid a little attention to the progression servers back then. Now their focus is 100% on SoD.
Actually, last I looked, it’s 65 seconds
only if you get to the boss and THEN gear swap. Which is pretty bad, and you shouldn’t be allowed to hold the pull timer to any set amount. We’re how many weeks into the DS and you should have the timing from boss figured out. Swap on trash and do dps. It’s not gonna proc while on ICD.
I haven’t been doing all of the stuff. Tbh, I only really started doing mastery set stuff recently. You could probably easily see this by looking up my character’s logs lol. Thx for the info for when I do end up getting the stuff to do it though.
I hate pre pull. It’s not fun and is stupid.
Just remove all non-standing buffs like flasks as soon as the fight starts. Is what it is, but removes this garbage non-fun mechanic. Also makes barrier to entry a lot more, especially with parse culture. I don’t want to hear an argument about “just don’t do it”, the culture now is parse or you’re stuck to getting into a GDKP as a buyer and good luck for new players without a bunch of gold.

Prepot is fine imo… its one of those things that was in the game forever. But the whole spec, gear, and various other swaps that have the slow modes in my guild requiring a 45 second pull timer for every boss just so the spreadsheet can look better for them is just silly af.
I don’t even really blame them. Because they look like dog water if they don’t do it.

Maybe another interim solution could be to disable self damage things like sulfron slammer, skull of impending doom, and circle of flame to proc damage trinkets like pvp trinkets.
I agree! The pre-pull sets are making it stressful to play.
