So my main since the start of classic was a Shaman on a pve server. I have a job, my playing time is limited, so I chose pve to avoid corpse runs. At the start of classic everything was fine, but now that things have progressed and people have left, that character is practically dead. Here’s why:
Horde are grossly outnumbered on most PVE servers, mine included. It’s at least as bad as alliance on the worst PvP servers. That means a very small player pool for horde. I’m resto, and since maining a full healing spec isn’t punished by world PvP, so are a lot of other hordies. The few 5-man groups that are run are never in need of a healer. If I try to start a run, it takes literally hours to find a tank, because tanks usually partner up with healers to start groups.
I can’t keep respeccing to DPS for 5-mans then back to resto for raid nights because farming gold is an absolute nightmare. The lack of world PvP means I can’t even compete for nodes or mobs to farm, and I can’t group up with anyone because they’re all on the other faction. Not to mention that since gold is so scarce and our population so low, our economy is trash, and any items or materials I do get are worth far less than they probably should be.
So I can’t farm up gold, can’t run 5-mans for fun, can’t do world PvP for fun, and if I want to queue up for a battleground I get to wait 20+ minutes, which I’m being told here is a “punishment” for rolling on the “over-populated” faction. I’m stuck with raid-logging and that’s just not it for me, chief.
So I reroll alliance on a PvP server to spice things up. We’ll see how this goes.

Or you could have transferred your toon to Mankrik, the Horde dominated PVE server.
Edit: that won’t fix your PVP queue, though. Sorry.

Why even roll horde on a PvE server?
For that matter, why even play on a PvE server? What’s the point?
Its too late to get that taste of wpvp - your better off rolling alliance on your pve server tbh - instant q times - trade gold across the neutral ah - so many advantages to that in regards to pve.
The issue you will now find is as a brand new toon you will also find it hard to find groups or find players looking to make ‘new’ friends due to guilds/raiders being fleshed out early and them leveling alts together.

He’s on Grobbulus. He’ll be fine.
Why even respond? What’s the point?

Like I said, I wanted pve to avoid the corpse runs that go along with world PvP. I rolled horde because I wanted to play a Shaman.
Of course you chose a warlock, have fun dealing with WOTF out in the world.
I legit don’t understand why anyone would play an MMORPG without world PvP. Doesn’t make sense to me.

Thats why wow has a choice. For those who dont understand why you would want pvp = pve server and those that dont understand why you wouldnt want pvp = pvp server.

I’ve always preferred battlegrounds, a fair fight with teamplay involved. I’ve been playing counter strike since I was 9, I kinda like that sortv of thing. It’s not that I don’t like PvP, I just prefer to do it in battlegrounds

Unfortunately what you described is the root a lot of classic’s problems. Alliance are the pve faction, horde are the pvp faction. And then people complain about it and want big daddy blizz to come fix it. If I could go back in time I would’ve rolled pve instead. It seems to be a much more enjoyable alliance experience. But my guild is pretty great so I’m not going anywhere atm.
Word of warning, if we do get TBC, faction imbalance will be worse, because BElf pallies are the best pallies. Plan accordingly.

Because they like playing the game and not being corpse camped all day by 40 people.

Would be nice if more people remembered the “RPG” part of the “MMORPG”. You know, pick whatever race you like, whatever class you like, play however you like instead of following BIS guides and using WoW like it’s a job instead of a game. Factions would be more balanced and the overall environment of the game would be more chill and less toxic. Guess that’s why I’m now on an rp-pvp server

Oh I agree. That’s what I did when I started. A NElf rogue seemed cool so that’s what I started as. It didn’t last long before I made my lock, I didn’t enjoy rogue. And now many years later here we are, and I’m still playing alliance.
And I can’t wrap my head around why anyone would want to play on a PVP server.
That’s why it’s awesome you can play your way and I can play mine. No one’s right or wrong, and we both get to enjoy the game.

Play an alliance alt and you’ll see.
To avoid other players dictating what you do in the open world. Nothing wrong with that. Which is what a lot more should have done in the first place. We wouldn’t have seen so much p2 QQ and these pve servers would have had better populations.
In fact. We may not even had as many pvp servers as we do now if the streamers didn’t herd their sheep to pvp servers on launch.
“Real Vanilla Experience”

Anyone who played on any pvp server in any game in the last 20 years should have seen the p2 slaughter coming.
You either wanted that slaughter or you roll pve. Simple player choice with real in game consequences. That’s what old school mmo’s were about.
Don’t hate on the people smart enough to see that and make their choice for theselves. Not what their streamer overlords said.

Bravo. I hope it goes well for you. You’re making the adjustment. Not just complaining and asking blizz to magically fix your situation.
If the playerbase got together on a larger scale and did this. Everyone’s dreams would come true.
I like how you’re rerolling instead of just transferring too. Screw mtx. It’s ruined gaming. Double bravo.

Do what everyone else does, level a mage and farm ZF for gold, respec fees suck but you need to do what you can to succeed bro.
