Well. It would be silly of me to continue to have a conversation with someone that doesnt want to face reality so ill just make one more post in it. There are players that only play classic. Players that only play retail. And players that play both. It is the entire reason ppl were upset with the patch cycle of retail falling at the same time as classic. But chose to believe they dont exist. Just like it doesnt bother me that people like to play games i dont like, it also doesnt bother me that some ppl dont believe the truth. They would rather pretend and be happy than face reality knowing that they cant control that they rage about someone playing retail. Easier to deny it. Oh well, doesnt affect me. See how simple that is.
I am discussing the game, as you can see in my original post itt.
I don’t consider saying “classic good, retail bad” much of a discussion. It doesn’t have anything to do with the game, more with the in fighting in the community and that is just drama.
I was thinking the same. But he clearly knew the point i was making was about whatever version he plays. Hanging out in tbc forum to make snide comments about retail players. He definitely has some anger built up.
I know a lot of people that quit wow and claimed to all of the retail players how hard and difficult vanilla was and how much better it was. Then almost every retail player that tried classic was like " did you say hard? Lol, this is challenging to you" it hurt a lot if thier feelings so they are angry with players that play both. Actually even chose to not acknowledge they exist.
Then why are you in this thread? It’s topic is clearly centered on what ‘ruined WoW’.
I don’t think classic is hard, just time consuming lol. I spent more time getting ready for a raid then doing the actual raid and I just became fed up with it that I stopped and did what I wanted in classic instead.
As for hard content? I play games like Elden Ring if I want that.
here is a story in 2006, so i talked in say chat “cus that what most people was doing in the past to socialize in towns” so i talked with a rogue & his girlfriend druid, the rogue was full t 2.5 called gamecontrol on mazrigos server, after a while he asked me about why i don’t have HoJ yet and i questioned it cus i had no idea if it was even good to have, then he decided him & his Girlfriend to go together farm it for me, we joined teanspeak and had alot of talks and fun while doing stealth runes to emperor, we did that for few days since i wasn’t lucky, and from then we’ve become friends for the whole vanilla, i even ended joining their guild but it all started as 2 good geared players helping a total stranger without any reason and without asking him to pay anything in return.
this is what made original wow so awesome, the people behavior and socializing skills, they helped each other in whatever possible way, even when u needed craft or enchant, there was alot of people who would do it without taking any fee, But Currently? it’s impossible to find anyone to help you for free, people only want to get paid to do anything, and this is the true about classic now! No one even know what does socializing mean and that leaded to those tons of boosts/service/selfish actions as reserves/ pay to join/ pay to get loot…No one is trying to make any friendly community to allow the game to gain better reputation or attract new player for a new home “wow”
so ofc the players now who only think about personal benifits are those who ruined wow the result is insane amount of boosts/services/real money trades. that’s a game killer tbh.
You know, I don’t see so much of blizz encouragin you to grief others in classic, but it’s amazing how often they set up the dance to get people to grief you in retail. Things like “Farm this rare for a mount, but you have to let it grow in power x number of times before you engage it or it won’t drop the mount.” We all know how many griefers ruined that. Or the dailies/world quests that say Kill these mobs, but then also turn around and say only get these mobs low in health, then do this other thing before it dies or you don’t get credit. Which double dips on the griefing by stopping players from completing their kill quests, and stops players from completing their interact with quests. Genius.
You’ll find more of that in Classic Era than tbc/wotlk.
Yeah. Like the quests in tbc currently for the skyguard daily where you have to rope the nether rays. Have to get them low on health first.
I am more refering to all of the toxic things that players do to each other that blizz allows to happen and responds by saying its on a pvp server. Like i said, killing quest givers for the sole purpose of annoying other players. All of the debuffing players world buffs, again just to ruin it for other players. There is so much stuff that Blizz allows that is straight up only for the purpose of griefing. So yeah, its the players that do it, but its blizz that gave the approval. They made the play environment toxic. And rhe playerbase evolved as a result.
Oh, you know I forgot about that. I got tired of the griefing many many years ago, back in original TBC, and server transferred over Hyjal. This time around in Classic, I went straight for a PvE server. But you get griefed on PvE servers as well, where opposite faction comes in and kills quest givers, or flight path npc’s just to ruin your experience.
I ruined nothing my good sirs. It was those punk kids. Who are all probably 38 years old now.
I thought about doing pve server this time around. But i know that some of that stuff still gets done in pve servers. Like they cant get you while you are on an escort quest but they can kill the npc you are escorting. That stuff is just pure griefing. Heck its rare that pvp servers will mess with ppl on escort quests. Ppl just have to be mean to each other lol.
Getting ganked doesnt bother me. It actually makes the world feel a little dangerous. So i stayed on pvp. And im glad i did. Its a lot if fun on grob. Mostly equal sized battles going on. That u can opt in or out of. We do take turns flipping the towers in hellfire. And u will get an occasional moron that kills the quest giver. Cause he is to stupid to realize that we wont be flipping the towers for them if we cant get the quest.
No, Blizzard is the reason why things are garbage, they refuse to perma ban cheaters, they refuse to perma ban their cheating streamer golden children, they basically showed they won’t police classic era games, so it’s out of control now.
Blizzard has the ultimate power, yet they refuse to enforce their own tos when it comes to RMT, and the way people play the game now.
It’s the reason why twitch went from a good video game platform, to a full blown out of control trafficking website and full of predatory streamers now because twitch refused to enforce their own tos.

Well said well said sir holy mother of pearl you’re one million percent right As I’ve said so many times it’s not 2004 it’s 2022.
And for us to bury your head in the sand and pretend for 1 second we’re gonna play the game the same way as we did literally almost 17 years ago at this point.
It’s just well Foolishness And you’re completely right the other half of that is yeah people socialized in dungeons for one reason because well we weren’t in a rush people didn’t get the 60 because they just want to socialize because back in the day in 2004.
We didn’t really have Facebook Twitter We had myspace The Internet was still very relatively new so yeah there’s a huge difference And on top of that the gaming landscape is changed simply put people don’t have as much time as they did back then so yeah 100% correct and Bravo for saying it
While a great thought, MMORPGs are a thing of the past dude. Especially remakes. If anything, they’d try Retail first.
You speak for yourself, and nobody else. If what you were saying was even a little bit true, nobody would have played classic. Next.
Ah yes, another completely pointless “blame the population” post.
Such a futile argument.
yes no not right now
many people believed in a tiny fragment of hope, that they will experience the same thing again, i do know 4 irl friends who started 2019classic with me all of them was so motivated about the game, talking about their great experience 16years ago but the 4 of them did quit before even reaching 60 when they saw the huge difference in the the atmosphere between the game back then and now.
alot of people wasn’t aware of the OP points, most of players only realized about them after they Started the game, there was around 4million player that joined 2019classic and 3m of them did quit in first few months, and for that? classic era didn’t attract any worthy numbers and tbcc didn’t do great either, around 800k are playing it now & the numbers is getting less every week because each day people realize the truth about how ugly this game has become not because the changes but because the people behavior changed, and it looks like this game now is not for fun or social activity anymore, almost everyone just wants to get things done by any means necessary, leveling boots, gear boosts…Rmt.
i personally would never recommend this game if classic era/tbcc/wotlkc to any new player.
