The Players Giant List of Wants for Dragonflight

The goal of this post is to share my thoughts on the game and its current state what could be changed to provide a better experience. I think with the changes that have been made at the end of Shadowlands it really has given Retail WoW a “Vanilla” squish feel. As if we really could be going into a “true” new era of WoW like the Game Devs have stated… A lot of people are at the point where Dragonflight is the final straw for them. WoW had a rough few years with the last few xpacs. (Except Legion Imho.) A big part of this “Vanilla” feel in my opinion could be bolstered by better social aspects of the game… Giving players better places to gather. Making those areas meaningful… Also with changes to professions, their goal was to give them a more meaningful feeling and give players a place to gather to craft… I feel like Blizzard has been listening and giving us some of the things we’ve asked for but theirs a chance here to make Dragonflight truly an amazing expansion if they listen to some of the things we’re asking for and do them right and not get overly ambitious with things. (Maybe we can slow the slow on Beta/Release a tad? I would rather get more features that excite me and my friends to play and explore again.)

I feel like Trade chat is dead for trading., Guild recruitment doesn’t get used because trade chat is used for all advertisements because no one trades in well trade… They only occasionally spergtalk… I feel like there needs to become a slight need to talk in trade and have the immersion of a thriving economy of players are trading items and hunting down what they need to make awesome recipes… Guilds have been becoming less and less needed to play the game and its a part of the game that as an MMORPG should be vital. IS choosing what guild you’re running around with accomplishing things in Azeroth with. (And finding glory on the battlefield with!)
As my list will go on… You’ll notice where some of the ideas came from… I try to diversify which WoW content creators I watch to think about the game in a fresh perspective after 16 years of playing.

So to begin with the list of things we’ve asked for that could bring better social immersion, total overall game immersion, and quality of life changes.

-Account Wide End-Game Progression - Account-wide everything besides gearing.

PvP Players Hall - A spot for PvP Players to gather, with PvP vendors from old content and more meaningful additions to PvP cosmestics.

-Guild Housing - We want a guild place to gather and socialize, meaningful options for housing and customization of housing.

-Meaningful changes for being in an guild - Reasons/more rewards for being in a guild. (Incentives to socialize.)

-Meaningful reasons to explore other main cities and use different main cities and set hearthstone other places than Orgrimmar/Stormwind. More immersion for Main cities.

-World PvP - Meaningful rewards for World PvP to incentivize players to get out explore and PvP.

-More Battleground/PvP modes - We simply need more battleground modes PvP needs some major love. 6-Man/10-man/30-Man BGs (Deathmatch, Domination etc…)

-More Allied races - We simply want more races that diversify the race options further than what we have now.

-Better Racials - Orcs/Troll/Human/Gnome have been the only PvP options for too long.

-Meaningful Rare drops/Rare gear - Legendaries have been played with as toys in my opinion and handed out to everyone… It shouldn’t be that way in a Fantsy MMORPG. It totally devalues the rare drop that a player got in PvE or PvP content. Legendaries should work like they did in Vanilla/TBC and should be worked for.

-Better World Bosses - Make rares/drops from world bosses meaningful again.

-Better World Questing/Dailies - Less time-consuming quests, interesting without being frustrating to complete.

-No Combat Addons - break Weakauras, DBM, BigWigs, OmniBar. People should learn to play their class at their pace like they did in Vanilla/TBC and only be doing PvP/PvE they can do without downloading 10 addons that play the game for them.

-More Mage Tower content and New Content like it/ Group Mage Tower scenario.

-Less Mount recolors

-Continue Torghast System without it being tied to legendaries with borrowed power.

-No Borrowed Power/Artifact power grinds. - At ALL. Once we’ve chosen our talents… it should just be GEARING. We shouldn’tt have to go get a specific item/set and grind to power it up to enter into content… Just let us gear as we did in Vanilla/TBC… Complexity is literally killing the game and making new players go play other games…

-Cross-Faction Guilds, we should be able to finally play with friends regardless of faction completely.

-Larger guild capacities as guilds have grown less and less important a lot of players are grouping to one guild and to have more people in those guilds we really need to increase guild capacities.

Better Class Balancing - Balancing is completely out of hand for PvP as well some PvE situations.

I’ll add more to this list as people discuss. Please what ideas have I missed that we have thrown at Blizzard for years that would be beneficial for WoW? We have a REAL chance here to be playing a FUN AWESOME MMORPG again! It’s feeling better now and the direction feels GOOOD but there’s more we as players want! As usual lets give it to Blizzard on a silver platter of how they need to change the game! WoW once had 10 million active players as that time of WoW was so awesome. It was thriving and flourishing with trade, social interactions and immersion of being in AZEROTH!!

I am hoping this will get stickied as everyone comes to discuss.

My list:

  • Cross-faction guilds
  • Better spec balance, all specs roughly equally viable in raids, mythic keystones, and arena pvp (exception for tanks in arena). No more than 10% delta from worst to best spec
  • Frequent spec balance tuning passes, at least every 2 weeks if not weekly
  • Decent story that actually makes sense without waiting for future reveals to explain what just happened

See this is my only part I don’t agree with you on. Other parts like player or guild housing I don’t care about but if people want em sure why not it doesn’t bother me at all. The part where you lost me on the add on breaking is because classes don’t play like they did in vanilla or tbc, They are more complex and faster paced as are the encounters. “Rare” spawns in current wow have more mechanics than vanilla raid bosses. They also don’t play the game for you that would be a bot and we have seen how effective they are .

Merge allied races with their parent races, make most races faction neutral, and give playable sethrak

I haven’t seen that happen ever for a random member post.

Several of the things listed have already been shot down (housing), are completely unrealistic (breaking all addons) or already announced (no borrowed power).

I’d like to have stories that occasionally wander into all areas of Azeroth, not only the tiny part created for the current expansion.

Yeah this is more or less my list.

I could take or leave story, that’s not a huge dealbreaker. But Blizzard more frequently buffing/nerfing outliers has always been a huge blind spot for them across all their games.

Lots of good things here so I’ll try not to repeat:

  • Meaningful, and recurring customization patches. Lots of races never got their second pass - and some that did are severely lacking. We need more than just a handful of toggles and swapped hairs. I want facial (and possibly body) customization. Unlink eyes, noses, and mouths from faces and let us swap them around to best represent our characters.

  • Cosmetic Glyphs and the Return of Inscription!! They have an entire library of old and unused spell animations that could be converted to glyphs.

  • Remove the restrictions on PL. Who cares if the piece I just picked up is a higher ilvl than the one I’m wearing? The stats are bogus, and it’s a BiS piece for someone in the party. Let me trade it.

My list:

  • Ret Paladin complete redesign. I am not kidding this spec has not felt right whatsoever since the Legion rework and don’t even get me started on the “Oh, you will suck throughout most of the expansion because of low haste values.” part of the design.(97% chance it won’t happen though :upside_down_face:)

That’s it really, SL was so bad that almost anything can surprise me in DF, I am already happy enough that Titan related stuff look more Warcrafty and less whatever the hell that was in BFA and the whole First Ones things in SL.

Why on earth did you repeat the exact same thread? lol

This is why there is an open thread for discussion more ideas and input for them to see the better.

-frequent tuning passes
-same conquest ilvl for everyone
-all powers usable in pvp obtainable from pvp
-pve trinkets and weapons not used in pvp
-no stupid trinkets like spite, maledict, resolve
-non melee hpal build

Vanilla and tbc didn’t have 10 modifiers on each spell for each spec to track either. They can remove addons when they make an interface that has all the information easily accessible. Right now default interface doesn’t show martyr damage per second with the legendary unless you take your mouse off the screen mid combat, which is unacceptable. No built in DR tracker on enemy portraits and raid frames is also terrible base UI design

No .

lmao.

Absolutely not. DBM especially adds accessibilty to the game with audio cues. People that make those threads are usually trolling.

You dont need addons to play the game at a high level. Side note: Stop telling others “the right way” to play the game. It’s just a game.

So, you want the most boring story ever? Where they just lay out absolutely everything for you from day one? No mystery? No intrigue? Just “Here’s what is going on and here is every major characters character beat” from day one?

That is some galaxy brain thinking.

I agree, the story has been very lack luster and not meaningful for either faction.

Cross Faction Guilds I love and talking with people on both sides. This could basically allow you to use the new WoW WOTLK group finder tool instead of grouping with people on different servers. This way everyone sticks to one server and in dungeon if you play well it might get you a guild invite.

Guild Halls (not player housing) a guild can buy a guild hall that gets built on a floating island in the sky, so as to not clutter the land and let it be in game. The Guild hall should have Crafting stations and anything crafted in the guild hall stations has a much higher chance of success. Or just a higher chance to being better. As it sounds like thats how the new system works kind of.
Halls would have to be X distance from each other and never over cities. other that this you can put your flying island and guild hall where you like. Either this or blizzard makes islands you sail to which again is not in game but a special zone.

I’d like to see some class restructure. No need for 3 dps trees as they are never equal. How about and Ice Mage tank? or Have some Enhancement classes that are someone what similar to shaman Totems but offer better states and get dropped each pull for mana regen, More life, extra dodge and block for tanks and things of this nature. of course these classes would do some dmg it just wouldn’t be as high as dps and they would need to be good enough that they basically help every spec be the best they can be. Drop big things like Point Blank Blade turn, basically a group wide shield that happens every 5 seconds. someone could bring a nice DPS group wide buff… etc.

Better AI mobs. groups of mobs with healers, Need for CC and interrupts. Mobs that might run for help because they know where the next group is. Smart patrol mobs. Better dungeon design. I like the big open dungeons that you had to explore around in at first, with different ways to go that might get you different toys to use on boss’s and suck.

Interesting idea you have with Frost mage tanking. Could be neat to see something like that happen. Or Just better Hybrid talents for each class to do more diverse things and really live out the fantasy of your class.

I agree more in depth character customization would be nice.
