The Plaguelands and bad design

The Western Plaguelands has no horde graveyard, even if I die literally across a stream from the gigantic graveyard in the zone I end up in Tirisfal. Neither of the Plaguelands zones have inns or repair vendors. Are we just supposed to never get hit or something in these zones?

There are zones with either no or poorly placed Alliance graveyards, too. It’s part of the game. Back to retail if it’s too tough on your feelings!

Go back to … retail?

I was wondering why horde are so well behaved in that zone.

There’s a graveyard there if you die in Scholo or Caer Darrow. If you die in other parts the graveyard in the adjacent zones is just as far as one inside the zone. Also, lorewise, the plague started in these zones so all of the dead became part of the Scourge army. Blame Kel’Thuzad for no graveyards there.

Did you really expect the seat of Scourge power in Lordaeron to have a nice cozy inn for you to log off in, safe and sound?

Thanks for reminding me! I’ll make sure to really kill all horde I find when I’m that level

Because it’s a LONG LONG LONG walk.

I would expect the argent dawn to have basic facilities for the adventurers they rely on, yes.

Not really. Tarren Mill is close. Run up the river and you’re in WPL by Uther’s tomb.

You’re a monster!!

A) it’s poor design.

B) it isn’t poor OR bad design; it’s design that doesn’t match your preferences. Blue isn’t bad fashion because I prefer black.

You could say it’s a bit too harsh of a penalty. That’s reasonable.

Stop dying then.

This is what makes classic and other more ā€œhardcoreā€ (though classic is far from hardcore) RPGs more engaging. You are nothing in this world, and it doesn’t care about your convenience.

As others said, you entered the center of the scourge in Lordaeron. The Argent Dawn are fighting a losing battle. They are the remnants of the Knights of the SIlverhand, many of whose members split off into the Scarlet Crusade.

The only place for repairs and rest for Horde is the Bulwark, because if there were a cozy inn for horde in the middle of the WPL it wouldn’t make any lore sense. Again, in this style of game, lore has more effect on world design than your convenience.

The alliance have the small Chillwind Camp. Again, it wouldn’t make any sense for there to be a big settlement there, because Lordaeron fell to the Scourge very recently. Stormwind can’t even supply troops to Westfall, why would they send troops to their imminent death in the WPL?

I’ll say it one more time, the lore means more here than your convenience. Having to run across the entirety of WPL is showing you who is in control here.

These zones are the ā€˜endgame’ when it comes to leveling. They are supposed to be unforgiving and dangerous. It wouldn’t feel unforgiving and dangerous if it was convenient.

Don’t feel too bad. They have two graveyards in the barrens.

Huh? That makes no sense. Silverpine is far more dangerous than Plaguelands for equivalent level characters. Stop trying to defend bad design.

The Argent Dawn is a recently established splinter faction of the Scarlet Crusade. Why would they have extensive facilities?

Hell, their MAIN BASE is a tiny ruined church.
