I’ve given suggestions on how to make the event more accessible, and it could be even bigger.
Then again, we could go with THIS solution:
Tell you what. I’ll forfeit my opt-out if you forfeit control of your character while a zombie. You just enter spectator mode. After all, mindless ghoul! No coordinating allowed.
Events that shake up the status quo are fun. Do I want it to be permanent? No. For a limited time chaos is fun. Watching the capitols burn for a couple of weeks will be fun. Something to shake the game up. THAT’S fun.

We’ll just have to wait and see what Blizzard does. I’m hoping to a no opt out chaotic event. If that happens I’ll be very happy and enjoy myself.

I don’t understand why people have issues with the idea that some people just don’t want to deal with this sort of thing, but also don’t feel it’s fair they should be forced out of the majority of the game, no matter how long the time period is, just because other people do enjoy it.
People getting an Opt-out option, where they get put in a shard where nothing happens, doesn’t effect anyone but the people opting out.
If you want your ridiculous, pointless, chaos filled mess of an “Event” to happen, have at it, but don’t act like just because it’s fun to you, means it’s fun to everyone.
Again, there is a reason blizzard was forced to cut this event short last time they ran it, and they didn’t run an event like this for 12 years afterwards.
The backlash was rather harsh, people DID NOT like the long term disruption of their playtime.
You might argue it’s two weeks, but two weeks is literally half a subscription month. Assuming it makes it to two full weeks and it isn’t canceled -again- because the majority of the fan base do not like massively disruptive events.
No, no, no… not spectator mode, let players use the abilities freely, otherwise the balance will shift the opposite way. Just limit movement, so players who turn can’t specifically go to places they know they’ll be able to harass other players.
A zombie is mindless, and will always move to where the meat is, not ignore everything to go to a specific point.

No, it’s too much to allow any amount of control. They want to make this event not respect War Mode? Fine, it’s gonna be full PvE. No player involvement on Zombie side.
You just can’t handle the idea that somebody might not want to play your way, so you’re trying to drive off players that don’t want to be zombie chow.
I just want the entire game world to be included. You’re trying to push the victim card in everyone’s face.
OK. Fine. If the world’s going to be included, the world rules get followed as well. The zombies are mindless, wild thralls. That means no PC control. You get spectator mode, or it’s NPC zombies only.

What’s wrong? The world is included now. Gotta follow the rules of THE LORE, right?
Fine but DK’s can control zombies. All DK’s get full reign of as many zombies as they can and go wherever they wish. DK controls their abilities.
