You know in general I don’t dislike furries. But in Wow, the community has always felt toxic. Being chased by multiple vulpera going yiffyiffyiff. Organized flag bombs. Them saying my like for gilblins even as a AR is wrong. Slamming on Mechagnome fans. Lies that say people are antifurry when they aren’t. In my view, the vulpera and furry community in wow in particular is a toxic mess where some of their most toxic elements seem free to do whatever they want and then get upset when hey, people don’t like that behavior.

You want the perception to change? Clean your house.

There’s going to be your biggest problem. You’re probably right- most people actually don’t really care about LGBT or furries and are fine letting them just go do their thing. It’s when ‘their thing’ ends up getting forced into conversations and then words like ‘phobe’ start getting thrown about that people stop not caring so much.

It’s a community that’s built up a reputation by letting the worst members of it represent them, and while I support your attempt to change that perception, the unfortunate reality for you is that your biggest enemy is going to be your own community here.

One of the biggest things that people will need to learn is to not resort to insults like phobe the moment someone says something you disagree with.

Another thing is- you’re just going to have to accept that some people don’t want to know. When every time someone comes into a conversation with ‘I am an LGBT furry’, people just know that the moment you disagree with them they’re going to start the harassment. I’m pretty sure just about every person in this thread has some sort of hobby or deviancy they’re into… they just aren’t making sure everyone knows about it everywhere they go.

In my last post, mentioned their dislike of other groups and the toxicity around that. What do you know, a Vulpera toon even did it right after I mentioned the problem. Colour me not shocked.

Byuk, you know I’ve always respected you.

But this… this is a bigger problem than just a single bad apple. I’ve seen a LOT of these bad apples. It’s always as if the freaking pie is made out of them. If it was just a single bad apple causing this, I wouldn’t see it as a problem, but it’s far bigger issue than people that want to change perceptions believe it to be.

I respect you as well, but by that point the Gilgoblin community isn’t exactly innocent either… I won’t demonize the entire Gilgoblin community nor Vulpera or High Elf or any other community for the few which is exactly what this is… the few. However, it sure makes it much harder to make a post when you have posters like the earlier quoted making such posts.

Furries are gross both online and irl and the fact that they compare people hating them to homophobia is hilarious tbh. Get real problems. If you don’t know why normal people don’t like you you’re just lying at this point. Everyone knows about rainfurrest or whatever it’s called.
