Sorry someone has to say it, but aside from the outliers and lunatic fringe, the furry fandom has a very healthy sex-positive stance, which along with accepting a LGBTQ+ community, it helps keep it from being taken over by corporate and private interests. If you can’t advertise to furries because of their perceived adult-only status, congratulations. Your fandom is and forever will be yours. Considering that furry is predominantly an art and creator based fandom, this is super important.
The truth is furries are very good at policing their own, they constantly exile illegal /racist/facist activity from their own fandom, but unfortunately that part never gets heard because most people would rather listen to the drama and preconceived notions.
Are they perfect? No. But they’re trying, and honestly doing a lot better than some of the other fandoms out there.

It works for any group. It is like a mad lib, and the reason why I try to avoid generalizations because it can be used against anyone. We see it used against religious people, non-religious people, LGBT, straight people, white people, black people, men, women, the list just goes on and on.
I don’t like it when people try to push whatever group I am in into a box, and give me the attributes of the worst members and I’m sure most of you don’t either. It is just rude, and completely unnecessary - but understandable because that is how our society tends to behave. It also has lead to some of the worst atrocities the world has seen.
Okay, off my soap box - no hate to the haters. I’m not better than any of you.

As someone who dabbled in furry stuff about 16 years ago.
Hard, HARD pass on this.
You guys have the stigma you have because of the people you choose to associate with and allow inside your group. And the sexual side of furry stuff is SO rampant and in your face constantly, it’s gross and unnecessary.
Just my opinion. I’m sure everyone will be talking about how “sex positive” furries are, I just don’t need it shoved down my throat like Indy with the blood drink in Temple of Doom.

I play tons of hot chicks in MMO’s. FFXIV, here, DDO, Neverwinter. MOST MMO’s, I play women.
My wife also plays, and only plays women.
Only /tell I have EVER received was in WotLK. A dude helped me with a quest and then tried to act like we should cyber. I told him I was a dude and laughed at him and he disappeared.
That’s it. My wife has never been cat called at by pervs. Not one time.
