This chummer gets it. Vague guidelines are open to abuse and get abused. That is the concern. Not about having to be polite.
The old golden rule was never discuss religion, politics, or sex (sexual orientation / preferences) in public. Stick to this, and you never have a problem.
No, the focus of 90% of the post was not related to the last 3 words, which are essentially a catch-all of most of the people who dislike the “social contract”
ok cuties time to hug and make up, we’re all gonna be grouping together soon <3
Just love how people are shrieking about it as if they feel like merely being SUGGESTED to at least be nice is akin to them being physically harmed.
Like if they cannot be mean to people they’d literally shrivel up and die.
But… but open your eyes, man.
yes, you ended your post with that as some kind of parting shot. See how I can take whatever you say and make it “derogatory.” It’s not difficult.
Yes, but, get a grip man.
I’m just wondering if it hadn’t been titled “social contract” if anyone would give two figs about how vague it is. I have never read a ToS/CoC that wasn’t vague. (And although I skim most, I HAVE read some!)
The unfortunate thing is this framed by the perspective of the person perceiving the potential offense. The contract just highlights the lack of actual interest the decision makers have in making the game and the community… better. Games with healthy communities have admins/mods constantly interacting with them. Problems are solved in timely manners and solved by real people with real voices. I have been on the receiving end of these claims and they couldn’t have been further from the truth.
Ask yourself, why is this necessary? What has changed? Did the community? Or did how the game has been managed change? In the past, mods used to whisper players in game to resolve issues. I can’t even recall the last time that happened for me.
This is just more fruit bowl paintings.
I cannot ease up on something I do not do.
They ought to be telling themselves as much. Make a poster and hang it up on every floor of their HQ. Would accomplish more I think.
Human Centipad episode of South Park did a good joke about something like this XD
bro, as a troll, telling me to be nice to people is literally hate speech against me, my culture, my lifestyle, and my religion(church of trolling)… telling me to be nice to jabronies IS equivalent to physical violence against my person, to ME, based on MY feelings, and if you disagree with me you are minimizing my personhood and my lived experiences and you are basically committing genocide against me and i will report you to the UN world feelings police.
It depends on the vague terms. I love helping people. Will I get kicked for indecency and jerkishness if I play my Feral Druid in M+?
bro you’re literally an orc shut
You’re like the anti-PC Principal on South Park.
Wait, this wording implies that you cannot be nice?
Dude, he meant troll as in on the forums.
No, it means I cannot ease up on being rude if I am not rude from the start.
im literally trolling with him but ok
