LOL what concern is it of yours how other people play? There is a VERY disturbing trend in the world today where people actually believe it is ok to tell others how to think.
Some people just enjoy things differently, a lot of these people are probably private server players that have leveled through classic and have raided many times and just do not really care much for the leveling part of the game. Personally, as someone who has leveled to 60 more than once, Iām still going to just sit back and enjoy the game, itāll feel great to actually play an official version of Classic this time. Iāll prob still level rather quickly though simply because I just know where everything is. Play the game however you want, whether thatās casually or hardcore, as long as youāre having fun with it. Most people arenāt going to hit 60 in just a couple of weeks.
There is no single purpose for Classic, and it is not your place to judge those who choose to engage in and re-live the best competitive PvE that ever existed.
Likewise, I will attempt to not judge you for being mediocre, scrub.
One day, I do not remember precisely which expansion it was, someone whispered me and asked me to join a raiding guild. I answered that I donāt like raiding, then his counter answer was āso why are you playing wowā.
At that very moment I realized how the audience of wow has changed over time. But he was right 100%, retail is a game which developersā only focus is end-game. Leveling is not fun anymore, professions are obsolete till you become maximum level. Everything aiming to the possible shortcuts to end.
Even I understand the rushing to 60 mentality, retail is the right place for such behavior. There will be guilds for easy going, flower smelling and enjoying the journey kind of people as well as hard core raiding, pvp guilds for more competitive audience for consuming wow in a short time. I will use an anecdote here:
It is like eating very pleasing, appealing and tasty dinner under 3 minutes and look around you that you were the first to finish with an arrogant bragging smile on your face who are slowly enjoying their meal.
I think leveling is boring and aside from a select few quests and dungeons, I just want to be 60 so I can start playng the real game. Iām not gonna rush, but Iām not gonna waste time on professions right at the start either. Itāll be much more efficient to one shot kobalds in the copper mines at level 60 than it would be to level BS up while leveling my character up.
So right now Iām playing Anthem on PS4 and I am really enjoying it. Iām not max level and I can only invest a few hours a day, if that, to playing the game. The game has a few issues but I wouldnt consider them groundbreaking. Iāve read a lot of comments and articles about people who are at max level within two days and then complaining that the game is stale or boring. Those players literally dumped 30+ hours into a game in two days and then want to call it boring. There was no stopping to engage in the story or the games smaller elements. This is a trend in gaming, heck its a trend in life where people just want to be at the top as fast as possible with as minimal work as possible. You know all those twenty somethings that want to be a CEO with no work or life experience.
Itās about the journey, not the destination! I know Classic wow will bring this back. Level 60 is a destination but itās also the beginning of another journey!
Iāve lost count of the number of times Iāve leveled a character to 60 on a vanilla server. I know every quest and every zone, so there isnāt really anything to explore. Itās not so much that I will rush to 60, Iāve just done it so many times that leveling has become quick and efficient. I do skip on many low level dungeons because of the fact that I level so quickly, itās just not worth farming for gear that I will probably replace in the amount of time it took me to farm it.
If you rush to 60 , nothing says you cant level an alt slowly, or are you fixed into playing the game a certain way? Once agin play how you want to play the game , enjoy the game how you want to enjoy game and F everyone elseā¦
I will never find it not incredibly weird how casual players will go out of their way to brag about their casualness as if it was some kind of competition to out casual the next guy. Yall are like vegans in that regard, just mind your own business.
For a more direct responseā¦ I will absolutely rush to 60, and aim to have 3 of them raid ready ~1.5-2 months into the game, which means Iāll probably have 3 characters capped before most people have 1.
Why? Because whatās fun FOR ME, is pvping, and thatās an in game hobby that I only really enjoy at level cap (I detest twinking), and one where you really donāt want to get left in the dust gear wise.
Now on the gear front, battlegrounds wonāt be out until the 2nd content bucket (with current information thatās the same time as bwl, or likely* 6 months past release)ā¦ Which means Iāve got 6 months of time within which Iāll have time to raid mc on multiple toons before the pvp really starts, and tons of things to get for those two alts specifically from there so that they can be decently competitive the rest of vanillaās life (like say nightfall /hand of rag for the enhancement, and perditionās blade for the rogue)ā¦ Those weapons and some baseline gear will do wonders for making those characters more viable than doing nothing before bgs, and then grinding out lobotomizer/ unstoppable force when bgs launch.
Different people play the game for different reasonsā¦ You may be all about taking your time, and bragging to yourself in a mirror about how casual you are, while Iām more concerned with maximizing what I can do with the limited time I have to do it in, and finding ever more efficient ways to turn opposing players into future soul shards and tallies on the scoreboard.
While I agree I am not a fan of people who just rush to end game, they are free to play however they wish. I just hate it when the group of people that rush to end game are gonna complain about lack of content and want the timeline sped upā¦
The earlier you get to 60, the less competition you have when farming high end mats, selling items, and farming gear/rep.
Now as a downside itās also harder to get groups and find/buy cheap BoEs but thatās not a big issue at lot of people are worried about.
