All of these are the psychological tendencies that Blizzard and other games are manipulating to increase their income. Players with these tendencies are in no way responsible for in-game changes designed to manipulate them.
All of the above.

Even that isnât enough for some people to realize how itâs getting worse and worse over the years when it comes to game development. Iâve argued with people who unironically say things like âYeah well, you should be more grateful, they are not obliged to do these games in the first place! They could just stop developing and then youâre left with no game at all, how would you like that, huh!?â.
Itâs a shame how some shills contribute to the problems of modern game design, while theyâre fighting every form of criticism about modern game monetization.
No it is asking if it will be put in the shop or if the images of the tender are just place holders for the items that will be put in the game .
Nothing in the wowhead articles says tenders are going into the shop or not so right now it is all hypathetical speculation .
COuld it be Placeholder images so that we donât see the new items from the Tenderâs Shop in Org and SW before they are available to get for their perspective month/s?
Kind of like how sometimes they have used cutscenes from old expansion or the blackscreen with the big red x in ptr so that people wonât see the actual cutscenes in the ptr before the patch is released.
doubt it. they havent had an issue with people datamining potential future items so far, and we never know what the actual rewards will be until the day or two before they come out anyway when blizz announces it
Please provide a link so that I am reviewing the same material that you are.
Ad hominem followed up by strawmen later on. Additionally, I need to see the material you are referring to.
It would actually be a decent gold sink if they had Tenders purchasable with gold instead of cash. Which, anything that can be bought with gold can be bought with cash in a roundabout way, but it could turn out to be a positive by burning up some gold reserves and balance the token economy.
The announcement.
Also, an ad hominem is not just any time someone throws an insult your way. It is when they use the insult as reasoning for an argument, which I did not do in that instance. My argument is that Blizzard lied, and your character is not related to that in any fashion.
I honestly donât remember seeing an interview or blue post claiming they wouldnât monetize it.
And we also donât know if this is going to happen. Wowhead datamined some icons. We donât know their use yet.
Edit: I just saw your link. I shall read it!
Second edit: nothing in there says theyâre never going to monetize it. All it says is, âWeâll be looking toward additional opportunities to provide the community with even more ways to add to their collections and express themselves everywhere they go in Azeroth.â So I donât see any lies.
I just read that and found absolutely no evidence that supports:
So you want MORE microtransactions?
That was inevitable, iâm not sure why people are surprised.
Basically weâre just couple of steps away from proper f2p game. With subscription cost for some reason. Can we just embrace vip-accounts like in SWTOR or ESO
Doesnât help that thereâs basically no warning on next monthâs content so youâd save tenders.
FF14 still gets away with a cost for bag space, while, apparently, pulling ahead of WoW in sub count. I donât think a well established game like WoW will go free to play anytime soon.
I dont think its going in the shop persay - the interface icons are weirdly divided by every 50 currency which makes it seem like its either a pricing for in-shop items or a bundle based thing.
If it was the 250 - 500 -750 - 1000, I would be more acceptable to the belief that its going to be able to be purchased in the shop.
Sometimes players are short of a very specific or very small amount of currency and a tiny amount of tenders would maybe be more motivating to buy it. 500 for 10 bucks, when youâre only 100 tenders short? No way. But 100 for 2 bucks? An attractive offer.
Because the Trading Post was presented as an activity you could choose to do or not for cosmetic rewards by playing the game, not swiping your credit card.
Usually if you are trying to promote micro-transactions - you want to have the potential buyer to buy an allotment over the needed amount thus requiring the player to need more currency for another item buy having more than enough for one item. Doing it at more convenient amounts would reduce the attractiveness of buying the currency on a premium - it would be weird and would make ABK one of the first companies to do this for premium currency.
Also - the fact that there is 16 different version of a currency bundle comes off as very strange and overbloated to be on a streamlined shop system.
Oh no this is check notes exactly what anyone able to critically think knew would happen and stated as much.
We knew it would happen, but that doesnât mean we have to take it lying down. Any resistance will probably be in vain though.
as in, they would let people use tender to buy the cash shop stuff? i dunno, i dont see that happening unless maybe they raise the 1k a month cap or something. i guess theyâre already putting cash shop mounts in the trading post though so itâs not impossible
