That was very well done.
I love how despite it being about Orcs, and thus violence, it felt really cozy. Going to Frostwolf Hold in Alterac was pretty cool as I don’t think I’ve been there while not trying to steal back a tower or frustrate the boss fight before.
Returning to the Valley of Trials was also a nice nostalgia hit and having to track a raptor across Durotar while functionally naked is very Orcy.
And most importantly it had basically every Orc character that’s ever been in the game. Seriously did they miss everyone because there were several I had to google to even remember. Seems like every even vaguely important greenskin was accounted for.
And the final boss being a rowdy Orc party where you’ve to drunkenly fight your way through beligerant guests, guards and a peon boss was just delightful.
Also some fun hints at possible future plothooks with an oasis starting to spring up in Durotar and the Mok’Nathal considering joining the Horde.
My solitary complaint is Durak’s voice acting seems kinda off. I get he’s a teenager but he sounded too human. Though I admit I’ve no idea how I’d approach a different take on it.
Overall just a really fantastic questline that covered the past, present and future of Orcs in a fun, light hearted but also sincere way. Five stars.

It really was amazing and its my favorite of the Heritage Armor questchains. I really liked seeing those old faces, especially Nazgrel.
I’m hoping his updated model is a sign that he’ll have an increased presence.
My Shaman joined the Frostwolf, while my Death Knight joined the Bleeding Hollow .

Now that I know you don’t have to be exalted it’s going to be easier to see these. Which I appreciate. Mine dropped at level 50 and if that’s the case I’m going to have an opportunity to see a lot more of them.
Because at time of writing I’ve only seen the Worgen and Forsaken one. And the Worgen one is terrible. The Forsaken one I’m actively replaying now and it’s still really good but suffers from Tirisfal being largely absent from the story.
I’m pretty sure I’ve level 50 trolls and belves kicking around somewhere so I’m looking forward to trying those out in the not too distant future.

The Draenei was one was really good alliance side. It was easily the best one and some old faces from TBC show up too.

The orc heritage quest was everything I wanted out of a heritage quest.
Lots of past characters to chat with?
A cultural event/holiday given detail?
Attention given to multiple classes and what they mean culturally?
A timeless setting not too strongly tied with an expac’s fleeting theme?
I’d love all heritage quests to be much like this one.

I definitely intend to see them all eventually. I hadn’t seen any for awhile because Belf was the only race I played that had one and I neglected to wear a Silvermoon tabard while leveling.
And I wasn’t grinding content to get SM to exalted again because I already did that once to nab the Crusader title. It’s a huge pain because the Ghostlands quests are largely connected to the inexplicably seperate Tranquillen reputation bar. So you either mindlessly grind dungeons or like I did scour the world for Belf quests.

Nothing beats the Worgen heritage questline.

Orc heritage is easily an S tier quest, which is great cause there it might be the only one

I loved that Saurfang was okay, and Grom knew his son was worthless.

Shame I couldn’t tame the raptor on my orc hunter when I did the chain.
Damn Blizzard nerfing fun before I had chance to have some.

This in particular is what I loved.
Like I’m looking at the Forsaken heritage quest ending on my computer screen right now and they have a decent amount of undead kicking around the generics.
Apothecary Keever for example;
"Apothecary Keever says: What is this? Did Keever ask for a sheep? Keever wanted a weapon of great power and all he got was this sheep. Keever is very disappointed.
Apothecary Keever pokes the wooly sheep repeatedly
(sheep explodes)
Apothecary Keever says: Keever is most pleased."
But they have no dialogue and it just feels kind of lazy. Because yeah I’m sure 90% of players aren’t going to go around chatting with random NPCs but is adding in a text box that big of a deal? Because it feels really cool for the 10% who do wander around to see if they have anything to say.

True, by far the best in the game. If only the Orc heritage questline was half as good as the Worgen one.
I’m telling you guys, if you haven’t done it yet, you’re missing out. You should go and start it straight away.
I really loved how they said the playable race was a withering idea that had no real connection to the faction!
Because I’m sure when players saw a werewolf option on the character creation screen what they really wanted were vaguely British humans. Who ride foxes now apparently.

For real, I dont have a single horde toon, so I haven’t done any heritage (besides maybe tauren and blood elf on a time during bfa i did some faction changes, and i’m not sure which i did). So I have no idea how good the orc one is.
Not a flex, just mentioning.
It’s truly great overall. I just wish for the same with the Human Heritage Questchain through besides being tied to just one Kingdom of Stormwind. Stromgarde, Gilneas, and Kul’tiras could have been part of the Human Questchain as a whole.

That doesn’t exactly fit, because the human playable character is specifically from Stormwind (northshire) and that is what the race represents, not the Arathis, or Gilneans or Kultirans.
