People don’t. Some people have thousands of gold, some a few hundred, and every increment in between. I don’t even have epic riding on any of my 60’s. No dual spec and the respec cost is the reason I don’t heal on my druid even though I’d like to. To hard to quest in a resto spec
tanks and healers have to make a choice. Tank in dungeons and questing is painful. Spec to quest and you can’t tank well. Some that would like to do both end up choosing the questing spec.
I made like 800g just from questing from 60 to 66 and my alt (who sell the cloths I farmed) made 300 ish. The game toss you gold in the face, just pick it up.
I solo just fine as protection. It’s actually quite easy. This isn’t classic anymore. The protection builds of crusade are a whole new league. It’s time to let go of the obsolete stigma.
I don’t get how people can’t understand that fun is subjective. I’ve talked to tanks who feel questing in prot is painful. Just as some druids and priests think questing in a healing spec is fine. I’ll do it on this priest but I find questing in resto to be to painful to do. I won’t be healing on my druid. If there was dual spec I would. I’m not trying to convince the druid who can have fun questing in resto that it’s not fun. It can be fun for them but it’s not fun for me. Why do you think what’s fun for you is fun for all other warriors. Dual spec would increase the number of tanks and healers. That’s a fact, How much is the question
its cause its slower way of leveling. i will quest in protection warrior or pally causer its more survivability. i can take on a few more than most could in this case. but the fight last longer and you seen people in todays gamming they want to run thru it as fast as posable
It has nothing to do with today’s gamer. There were just as many threads asking for dual spec in vanilla, BC, and wrath until it was finally added. I’ve read every one of the arguments you see in today’s thread for and against dual spec 15 years ago on the vanilla forums
That’s as far as I read this time because subjective opinions and what people find fun or not fun is totally irrelevant to my original objective points. We could be here for an eternity trying to say what’s fun or not fun. You do that if you like; I will not.
I would rather play with a real tank and need to wait a bit over LOL Resto druids
cat druids, Holy Paladin, ret Paladin, fury and arms in leather and Mail pretending they’re tanks.
Main a tank, would still love to have dual spec in the game early.
It won’t “solve” the tank problem because you’ll never get 1/5th of the players to A) play a class that CAN tank and then B) willingly gear + learn to tank for pugs.
But it would certainly help, just like it did in Wrath + onward.
Yeah but like, so I should just travel all the way back to stormwind and respec between dungeons and questing? That’s a lot of going back and forth when dual spec would just let me switch specs and I could have a tanking set in my inventory to wear should the need arise.
The person you were replying to said dual spec would fix nothing.
As for people not switching to tank for their secondary spec the same argument applies: It’s never been statistically significant enough to really be worth mentioning. It didn’t happen on retail and there is no real reason to think it would happen on Classic.
The fact that not literally 0 people will do it doesn’t change that.
