These hacks are working as intended. Nothing broken about them.
The game being updated to use the new back-end is one way of reducing this issue. AKA, you won’t be able to use classic hacks in the classic manner.
Inb4 #nochanges because this breaks the vanilla experience.

As for changing your mind… if you want to be technical, the things you mentioned weren’t broken. They are the exploits of what is broken or what were technical limitations of the time.
