I haven’t seen this brought up and it sounds kind of trivial in the big scheme of things but… official HC servers NEED to have death announcements… and ideally level 60 ding announcements. You should be able to filter them of course, but they should be integrated part of the game.
The death announcements are such a huge part of the HC experience, I can not imagine playing without them.
Only feature should be death = delete
Announcements will ruin the game mode

The “death equals delete only” crowd are cringe. There needs to be must haves. And one of them is death announcements.
They should fire a cannon or launch a huge firework over orgrimmar/stormwind hunger games style.

Always found it funny seeing someone who was like level 3 die to a boar.
Recently there was someone whose last words were ‘‘nooo bear’’ and died to a bear at level 1, gave me a good chuckle
Have it same way it is in Diablo. People like Esfand act like they invented the idea of only 1 life in a video game… that has been a concept since video games first came out.
I’ve found that The Death Log scroll and Last Words are the best part of the HC addon.

Eyr, hardly anyone will use the addon. Players in MMOS have consistently proven that they will exploit games in order to gain a competitive advantage, even if it ends the fun faster.

The only rule that blizzard should implement is permadeath. Everything else is clown fanfare.
Clown fanfare is what they are trying to avoid with the addon. Who should we pander to? A community that built itself up from scracth and thrived so hard that blizzard created an official mode off their addon? Or tourist flavour of the month players that want to participate in “the next new thing” and will likely quit after losing a character. Lets not forget the gold botters, sellers and buyers who will absolutely love open trade.
