The one class you have zero desire to play

Warrior. It’s just hit this thing with sword in the same way with a bunch of different skills. Super boring. Physical damage classes in general I find super boring but at least Rogues have a different thing going on a bit with stealth and bleeds and poisons.

@OP - Paladin is awesome - you’re missing out!

Awesome if you like healing.

Or doing 300 dps.

I will play them all to level 60 because I have a problem. It may take me YEARS, but I will do it.

They might have been a joke in PvE, but a good ret pally was hard as hell to kill back in the day. They had RNG burst potential, and their ability to refresh their health 2 times in a fight meant you basically had to kill them 3 separate times.

Well I do like healing lol. But the class style is great - all this cool light magic (which even makes the melee dps fun - it’s a style of dps I’m normally not into). Buffs, auras, heals, seals and judgements, super hard to kill, everybody loves you because they need what you have. The theme is fun to play once you get into it. Similar to Clerics in other games in how it feels to me.

They were okay in 1v1 against something like a warrior. That’s about all they could kill 1v1 though, simply because they could heal and warriors couldn’t.

Pallies are still hard to kill in PvP in Retail. I usually don’t even bother trying. Some things don’t change. :joy:

They’re definitely fun to play. I played one in Vanilla. But I got tired of Holy being the only viable spec because they were subpar at everything else.

Yea because now their damage is busted, on top of having BoP, bubble, healing, LoH, and Shield of Vengeance lol

PALADIN - played and raided all the way into Naxxramas, it was painful. Out of every class and spec, I think a Holy Paladin (with 1h and shield) does the least amount of DPS. Compared to Resto Shaman, Holy or Disc Priest, Resto Druids, Protection Warriors or Paladins, everything beats it. It’s so annoying. Every other healing spec has castable or instant damage attacks. Not Paladin. Get sucked into C’thun’s stomach, good luck killing that tentacle on time if you’re by yourself. Don’t even THINK about skipping Holy Shock.

Obviously they make up for it with their healing. I don’t know if they will have multiple ranks of spells, but Paladins have 3 or 4 different ranks of Flash of Light to spam on tanks. Paladins should be prepared to have a buddy to help them farm -LITERALLY ANYTHING- because it sucks that bad. I am so glad that I know the TRUTH about Paladins and won’t make the mistake of playing them again come Classic.

Besides Paladins, I guess Druids because their only rez is on a 30 min cooldown.

That sounds great, but is it enough to survive the dps meter watchers prevolent in gaming these days?

Rogue for me.

Well I’m a healer so I’m not terribly concerned about dps meter watchers lol.

Which is why ret is out even though it seems so fun. If only they fixed it before 1.12.

Ah I would play them all but I am limited on time.

Despite how much some people are obsessed with them around here, I have very little desire to play a Warrior.

Oh, I see. You couldn’t kill every class as a paladin, so they must’ve been bad…

Not even the best played character was capable of dominating everyone they came across in Vanilla. It was much more of a “rock/paper/scissors” type of system back then, meaning you’d have an easy time with some classes, and not so much with others.

Warriors are remembered as wrecking balls, yet they were just average without a pocket healer. Rogues are remembered as stun-lock kings that killed everyone they got the jump on, yet that was only the case when they had their CDs, and probably not against a pally, warrior, or druid. Shadow priests were probably the most terrifying thing back then, and even they didn’t have much potential beyond the first couple kills.

Paladins did just fine, you just had to play to their strengths like you did with every other class.

Zero desire to play anything but a druid.

Druid > all

Clearly.

No, they were bad because their damage was a joke and that’s a well known fact. They were very efficient healers, but everyone wanted to play retribution and do mediocre damage. That’s why they were bad.

Yes, in PvE. They had potential in PvP, and that’s what I’m talking about. Read the whole post. Yeesh…
