The old world is as dead as in Shadowlands

The only thing that’s changed is that the Dragon Isles are in theory, physically attached to Azeroth, but aside from the docks/hangers there’s no physical presence of the new expansion in the old world, aside from a couple NPCs in the main capitals.

Are we going to have any reason to have anyone other than bank alts in the old world as the expansion plays on?

I really like Dragonflight, but this has been one of my worries since the announcement.

With 4 70’s, reagent bags, a reagent bank, and full bank slots purchased I’m already swimming in space without a bank alt. Can’t say there’s even a reason to have that in the old world tbqh.

that’s one of my biggest issues with the game from xpac to xpac…they isolate you onto these continents…but that’s not “world” of warcraft. i think their world feels really small compared to back in the days

I was hoping trading post would be a tool used bring people to all the corners of the realm, but that’s clearly not what they have in mind.

professions were another way they could have added a presence to the old world :broken_heart:

they also need to give some love to the older continents…an update to the graphics and the stories they failed to follow up on since…Cata?

Why would we? and why would we want to?

Your achievement score is low. You go back to the old world first. I done alot of that already.

So like every xpac we were isolated in the new zone

Except Cataclysm but y’all hate that one for whatever reason

And your point is?

There isn’t one. Not everyone has the urge or the time to chase achievements to bump their forum clout.

One of my favourites.

Back in the days the world was much smaller. As the world grew, the population gets spread out.

I loved Cataclysm. Probably the most work they’ve ever done as far as changing the world while making most of it still feel alive and played in.

You’re complaining about nothing bringing people to old content when there is already a mountain of reasons. And yet you haven’t done alot of it.

Like like kennie with 39k achievements was complaining, I’d be like okay he’s got a point. But also would have to consider he’s exhausted alot of content is likely in that hundredth of percent of the population that’s like “done” with the game.

What do you want, Cataclysm-level revamps every time a new expansion launches?

Trading Post.

Every other expansion should bring us back to a partially updated old world in my opinion. Dead capitals give the impression of a dead game, and that’s not good for anyone.

Try playing Classic Era.

And that’s already been shown to not work when it was current. People afked in the starting cities for rbgs and weekly raid during cata after maxing reps. They didn’t care to “redo” loremaster.

It’s also one of my FAVORITES too. Especially Vash’jir.

Also, the “U” doesn’t do anything, so why keep it in favourite? That’s why favorite is better. Even my browser is spell correcting when I type the “U.” Down with: Favourite, Harbour, Honour, ect !

There isn’t a reason to quest anymore, basically. (Talking old world here.)

Most players have done every zone already, and new players are exceedingly rare.

It’s sad that most people that venture out into the world will find it empty, and seeing another player questing in the old world is like finding gold.

DF is the only place where you can find players milling about, and that’s it.

It’s been a large problem with WoW, basically play the expansion and stay inside said expansion.

I wish Timewalking World Content was a thing, with unique rewards. I wouldn’t mind doing Jintha’Alor again, or something like that.

I’d love to do stuff like Black Dragonflight key grinding and Elemental Storms, but in the old world, with increased iLvL rewards, mounts, cosmetics that people chase, etc.

I thought the Trading Post might be an attempt at that, which rewards you for just being there/playing.
