The official "I didn't take time off from work" thread

I imagine the forums are going to be pretty quiet on this fine Tuesday. So, my fellow hard working individuals…how does it feel to be at work for another 8 hours while the rest of them get to play classic wow? I know for me, I can’t wait to get out of here and I’ve only been here for a few minutes. Hopefully I can get some busy work today and the day will move faster.

I am curious to know what am I missing out. I’ve been on a business trip for the past weeks and probably will only create my character mid September.

I’m pretty okay? I was never going to go hardcore in Classic and push to be the front of the pack, so not being able to play for 8 hours every weekday isn’t killing me.

I played for 6 hours last night and got to level 10, which was the goal I set for myself, so I didn’t log out unsatisfied.

Same. I wanted to get to level 12, but I’m just happy I got to level 10 and got my first talent point. Feels really good. Now if only I could just play a little bit more!

Hopefully they will do the weekly maintenance reset because a few of the realms I was on had broken nameplates and mob respawn rates were slow, and people were getting DC but the server was up.

I jumped on a new server they brought up, and didn’t have any problems despite the starting area being packed. Which means the realms they initially launched are having some minor stability issues.

Feels fine. It’s a video game. It’s no big deal.

I still look forward to getting home and being able to play after a 1 hour queue, though

It’s not like I well miss out on anything being at work. I did this all years ago in vanilla. There’s no reason to rush as there are not any world firsts to obtain. It’s all been done before.

Add me to the list. Id love to stay home and play its just not possible right now. I do have a 4 day weekend coming up and I hope the servers are a little less crowded by then.

I can just imagine going up to my boss and asking for a few days off so that I can play a video game. That would go over well.

I saved my pto for Thursday and Friday. I have participated in nearly every Blizzard launch and knew this would be no different, a trainwreck.

Didn’t take time off from work crew checking in.

I quit my job instead. I want the true vanilla experience. #nochanges

I did not take off but i still had horrible time but not cuz of bliz. at 6:01 i was in game and all fine and dandy. But then my power went out for hrs on and off. Then I lost my net for hours. I got it all back at 11pm. Me and my friend ended up on sulfuras and we got cool names nad had a blast. Its all good in the end.

Theres alwas gonna be raging people like last night.

I’ve got about a week and a half of PTO left this year not counting the week my company shuts down between Christmas and New Years.

Not wasting that to sit in queues. I’m more than happy to play the catch up game once the dust has settled in a few weeks.

OMG the crocs in the Southfury River on Mankrik were evade bugged so bad…even getting into melee range wouldn’t allow me to hit them. They def need to fix that

I played from 4am to about 6am this morning, and now im sitting at my desk at work. My days of talking off work to play a game are long behind me. Having a work ethic and priorities sucks lol

I am still at work and was sleeping during the day while the game launched. I knew there would be queues and i have never played Vanilla, so i readied myself long ago with accepting that i likely will not get to play in earnest until Thursday or Friday. I don’t have a guild and will be savoring the experience at my own pace. I can’t wait to play and am super excited it’s here, but i am also in no rush. I plan on spending hours on my Tauren Shaman fishing in Bloodhoof lake and just enjoying all the RPG elements that Classic has in spades.

Never take off for launch days, midnight releases, etc. unless you want to be raging lunatic on the forums.

True advice for 99.9% of online games I’ve played for the past 20 years.

I did the exact same thing. Launches are never smooth. I’m off Thursday and Friday, the weekend, then Monday.
