Ive been wondering why ive found the new races a little underwhelming, and i think it’s due to the lack of class options associated.
No druids, demon hunters, or death knights for either Earthen or Dracthyr. Bringing them down to 10 options.
Earthen then couldn’t be evoker. Dracthyr couldnt be shaman, paladin, or monk. After that, your limited by your own preference.
Those mostly make sense. (Shaman for Dracthyr seems reasonable) so its a problem with the race choice.
For now, Demon Hunter is a foregone conclusion. We shouldnt try to make a race be demon hunter at this point. But for thr big 3, druid, shaman, paladin, we need the next race to have them. We need them to have been around for Arthas to kill.
Limiting classes kills a race. Some people dont like the look, the lore, the feel. For example, i dont mind playing Earthen as a plate class. Less so a clothie. But theyre missing a plate option.
Demon Hunter being as restricted as it is makes sense, but it sucks. Because shorter races look absurd with their 2h attacks. And there are only 3 classes that are melee, and only use 1h weapons
- Demon Hunter
- Shaman
- Rogue
One of those is hyper restricted. Another is heavily restricted. Might be fine, but the game now has 6 short races.
Im sure someones going to say “playing a 2h spec on a short race is fine.” Because this is the internet and for reason someone being against something means there isnt a clear trend and preference. If thats youre opinion, fine. But me and the playerbase say otherwise.
Tl;dr - the next playable race needs to be able to play paladin, death knight, shaman, and druid.
